So... I know this book's title seems like a questionable one and maybe Katie does have a little problem but oh my goodness I loved it!!! It's just so entertaining to live vicariously through my books. I was cheering for Tommy and Katie the whole book. He is such a great guy and we all make mistakes. They were destined to be together the second the book mentioned him. :D

katie ellison is dating a football star and running for quahog princess in her hometown. things look pretty good, but she's actually cheating on the football star and hates quahogs. then a mysterious dude from her past shows up to teach her what's really important. GAG.

dull and repetitive. the main character is a dimwit jerk, yet we constantly have to hear the other characters sing her praises. katie always complains about the "britneys and tiffanys" (ie airheads) who flirt with her younger brother...and yet...katie IS one. the phrase "oh. my. GOD! tommy sullivan is back in town!" was used at least 272,000 times.

the whole thing was made so much worse by the narrator of the audiobook, who seems to think she's doing shakespeare in the park when what this really needed to work was a wry, chatty tone.

meg cabot might want to work on publishing one excellent novel a year, rather than 8 halfassed ones.

Truth be told, I don't remember this book at all (no points for being memorable, I guess) but I did love this book when I was younger. My basic philosophy with Meg Cabot is if you're reading it as a preteen who just wants an easy, breezy read, then fine. But, if you're reading it because you want a book that is interesting, unique, or challenging, she just isn't the author to go for.

That being said, I remember liking this book more than some of her other books when I read it way back when, but everything besides that is beyond me.

On my second (or maybe third) reread of this book, I'm downgrading it a star. Most likely because I'm older now and no longer in its target audience age group but I remembered really liking this book as a young adult and now I found it mildly disappointing. I will say, it still has one of my favorite lines - "Am I the only one who recalls that Seth Turner used to think trees give off cold air because when you stand in the shade it's cooler than in the sun?"

Very fluffy, but good storyline and characters. Definitely kept me reading! :)

i used to reread chapter 13 over and over again as a tween... iykyk

This book was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The end was kind of cute.

Cute book

Not your typical boy meets girl story. This is about standing up for what you believe in. Some characters in the book are really shallow.
