My 9 year old son has Asperger's, so I was interested in reading a book from the POV of an adult with Asperger's. Overall I enjoyed it although I feel like Don's character was more of a caricature of an Aspie. Sheldon Cooper is hilarious, but he is an extreme..all Aspies have similar traits but they are individuals and don't all fall into the same stereotypes. My son has a hard time understanding social nuances and situations that most of us find easy, but as he gets older he's learning what is expected of him in those situations. I find it hard to believe that Don is nearly 40 years old and hasn't picked up on a few things.

It was a quick, fun read and I found myself laughing out loud several times. I was afraid that Don was going to end up trying to change who he is in order for Rosie to love him so it was nice to see that in the end he was accepted for his differences anyway.

Fun "beach read" while I am sick. a geneticist is looking for a suitable partner. Meets a wildly "unsuitable" woman, who teaches him how to live a different life. Moves along quickly and is silly but fun.

Unexpectedly charming and delightful.

Loved it! Loved the writing style and the story and the characters, but the end kind of felt like it happened in one big breath and then it was over.

Such a charming book! I loved the characters and their development through the book! It was so heartwarming, but in a unique way! And it was a quick read, which I loved!

Very entertaining. Don reminds me of myself in 2 ways:
(1) he has Asperger's. My case is a lot milder than his, but I identified with many of his habits.
(2) I have my own Rosie. Like Don's, mine is almost a polar opposite in terms of flexibility and attitude. And like Don, she's been really good for me.

Make it 3 ways:
(3) we often enumerate our points in an effort to make ourselves understood. :)

Really cute, quick read.

3.5 stars.

A cute story, more like a slice of life about a genetics professor with social interaction problems than a love story, for me. I enjoyed it 90% of the time, but lost interest towards the end for some reason.

I found this book a charming and quick read. The protagonist, Don Tillman, is very relatable, self-aware in a lot of ways even as he completely misses social cues in the various funny and touching stages of his 'love project.'

Some reviewers disliked Don's characterisation but personally, I didn't find Don to be a stereotypical portrayal of someone on the autism spectrum. Don is non-neurotypical but Graeme Simsion wasn't heavy-handed; nor did he seem to be trying specifically to shatter perceptions about what this means.

As a love story between two offbeat individuals with a lot of flaws and a lot to offer, I thought this was very well done.

LOVED IT!!!!!! This was my first audio book and it was a perfect one. The narrator was amazing and the story was wonderful! Can't recommend enough!
