This was fairly wooden in delivery by the first-person
voice of the protagonist. No real development of
character(s) and in my opinion the "investigation'
really never got started until 270 pages into the
story!
There is alot of background on the early 1900's
situation in British India, but I did not have too
much interest in that. So I will not be reading
the next book in the series.

A very good debut novel. Wyndham is an interesting narrator and allows the reader to see India through his eyes.
An enjoyable and interesting read. Although a bit predictable I enjoyed learning more about India in the early 1900s through the story as have never read a book in this time period.

A perfectly fine crime novel in a great setting (1920s India). Learning about the location and history was probably the highlight. A lighthearted, easy-to-read, enjoyable story - reminds me of Anthony Horowitz

Excellent depiction of early 20th century India (and the kaleidoscopic realities of cultures and colonialism) with a fascinating, complex mystery and characters whose personalities and secrets are slowly and naturally revealed. A fine new mystery series has begun!
