This is more 2.5 stars than 2...

I wanted to like this book. It was cute and everything but the main characters were so. very. annoying. Addison is such a ditz and makes such bad decisions that you wonder how on earth she made it to 30. And Nick, the love interest... yuck. Such a jerk.

I just really disliked Addison. Gossipy, self-centred, boring... how can you warm up to a person who spends money on everything and then complains she can't save enough to buy a house. Or one who causes a car accident and never even stops to check if people were hurt. The only interesting character was her mum but she hardly featured. So don't waste your time on this.

v weird opening - teacher goes into the strip club to become stripper on the side, does one dance in front of the whole club, doesn't get the job and on her way out finds a corps next to her car. wtf?
it would've been fine if I writing was good, but it wasn't.
just didn't like it at all

It was a cute book. Reminded me a bit of the Stephanie Plum series. I enjoyed it for a quick, easy read to relax.

I enjoyed this enough to make me want to read the next one and am hoping it improves. The plot was good and kept me turning the pages. I can definitely appreciate the clumsiness of the character, yet there was a juvenile aspect that didn't really mesh well.

I love a series. And this one is reminiscent of our beloved Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich - although not quite as good. (Does anything really stack up to or higher than Stephanie? If so let me know in the comments)
The bumbling would be detective who stumbles into the field, the funny eccentric friend, and of course the love triangle. It’s a recipe for entertaining reads when done correctly which this one is acceptable.
More of a fun mystery with jokes and romance, this entire series was good. I’ll continue reading if more come out.

Started, couldn't put it down. It was so funny. And sexy. And smart. Everything Stephanie Plum could have been. Will definitely keep going in this series!!

Nice blend of action, humor and with hint of romance. Because of lack of more romance its 4 stars. And there were some blanks in the story like it was bad editing and few pages were (by mistake) cut off. But overall - light and funny read.

No thinking required to read this. It's fun, light and has more than a few laugh out loud lines. However, Addison's schtick of the bumbling detective wears thin. The romance is strange..it tends to go from 0-60-0 in a matter of a few sentences...and maybe that's the authors way of writing "suspenseful" romance..but to me, I got tired of it. To sum it up, this book is an Izzy Spellman crossed with Lt. Jack Daniels wannabe. Nice effort, but the case of the one line zinger-single -female -detective -looking -for -romance - genre only works if the plot flows and the characters are believable.
