Okay so what the actual hell?!?! Why was this seriously one of the best books ever?! No for real it really is I mean I know I say this a lot but I stayed up super late, woke up after getting the bare amount minimum of sleep just to start reading again before work, then was grateful I work from home because literally no work got done until I finished it was that good!!!
We have so much drama, the spice was nicely turned up, and ummm the drama?! Riley is holding on to some heavy secrets and these boys, yes I say boys because they are immature and literally cannot listen. They all just kept making me mad. I mean Logan isn’t as bad but I really did want just throttle Grayson LOL. Royce I think he’s honestly my favorite. Now Riley….oh man is this girl one bad ass strongest chick ever! I really don’t want to say this but I think I like her more than Hadley

I'm totally vested in this series. Riley is not only a survivor but a fighter. She is the new scholarship student aka "charity case" at Halston U. Riley just wants an education so that she can move on with her life but on her journey she catches the eyes of not only the star Hockey player Logan but eventually his BFF's as well.
Logan sought out Riley to help tutor him in Statistic and they grew comfortable with one another and became friends but Logan wanted Riley for more.
Royce h8ted and distrust women but after running into Riley a few times and seeing her at work makes it hard for Royce to stay away because Riley resonates with the darkest part of him.
Then there's Grayson. Riley's former stepbrother who accused her of lying on his father where he currently sits due to unrelated charges, destroying his family's name and reputation and causing chaos with her lies. Besides wanting Riley; he also wants Riley to suffer.
Logan and Royce believes everything Grayson has said about Riley tarnishing their opinions of her and causing them to go along with Grayson's plan to break her.
Nobody believes Riley and she is ready to give up and stop fighting but their is one person her heart beats for and that person is her reason to keep fighting.
This book ends on a Cliffhanger with Royce coming to a startling realization that will rock the foundation of his, Logan and Grayson's friendship as well as any attempt of a future with Riley. After everything they've done to her it's gonna take a lot of groveling and Hail Marys to right their wrongs and even that may not be enough.

WOW is not nearly enough.
It took me a lot longer than I wanted since I did not want it to end.
I went in full blind and it was so worth it. You think you know, but you don't.

RH. I wasn’t completely obsessed, but I didn’t hate it. I think Grayson is truly a horrible person, and I think he also judged her story wayyy too fast to even make a decision about whether she was lying or not. And toward the end when the random kidnapping happened it just felt very out of place. I’m reading the second book to give it a chance but I’m not completely in it.
* I came back to knock down a point because of the Royce situation. The FMC has been repeatedly SA’ed and still fuddles around with Royce who has been accused of SA??? Doesn’t make sense to me. And it’s also never addressed again in the rest of the book. I’m halfway through the second and it still hasn’t been addressed. Girly isn’t even nervous??? Idk weird

I liked it. Solid first book of the series.
But here’s the thing: having an 18 year old running a massive company? Just no. I get what the author was trying to do, but it just didn’t work for me. If the kid was just dealing with public image issues, that would be way more believable.
As for the characters, most of them were pretty okay. They have distinct stories and personalities. I liked their development and the plot, even though it was a bit slow. But Grayson? *sigh* He’s like the epitome of entitled white frat podcaster rich boy syndrome—totally annoying and not at all enjoyable.
And the villain’s 'ultimate' plan(aka the entire kidnapping) ? It felt like something a bunch of kids came up with during recess. Not scary at all. Even the FMC didn't take it seriously. So, while there were some good parts, these grand part really dragged down my enjoyment.

Absolutely loved this bulky romance. The FMC is abused as a child but is determined to make something of her life and provide a better life for her child. She obtains a scholarship to a university that is close to home and is a full ride. She runs into 3 guys that live with each other but she finds that out later. First one is the hockey captain in her statistics class that needs a tutor. The second is a grumpy under ground fighter that was the football captain. The third is her old step brother and son of her abuser. The guys side with the step brother and bully her until they start to figure out the story they were told is not adding up to the girl they are falling for.

Getting to hear about Rylie’s past, made me feel so much for her and especially with how the guys treated her. I can’t wait to see how they beg for her forgiveness!

R A Smyth has yet again created a world that you can't help, but be sucked into. Characters that feel like real people, ones that you'd be friends with, hate with a passion and ones you'd love to get down and dirty in the sheets. Riley has come to Halston university to finally find freedom. Her past still haunts her, but she's trying to push forward for herself and her family. It's there that she meets royce and logan. The two couldn't be more different and yet she's drawn to both of them, like a moth to a flame. Watching their relationships grow and the spice between them was incredible. But when Grayson realizes who she is, he clues his friends in and things take a turn for the worse. He believes she lied, but will he realize it's not her who has him fooled, but the person he thought he could count on the most? I can't wait to see the amount of groveling these men do in the next book, because you best believe they messed up monumentally.
