I mean ... if I didn't know this story already I would have no idea what's going on. Obviously, I'm not a graphic novel connoisseur, but all these dudes look the same. Except Jamie. :)

A slapjob attempt at condensing a 1k+ page book into a graphic novel

As someone who grew up reading comics, when I heard that Diana Gabaldon was coming out with a graphic novel - I flipped! I was not disappointed. That said, if you are not a fan of graphic novels, this probably won't be the most enjoyable book of the series for you.

The art was lovely and the story, a retelling of the first novel in the series but from Jamie's point of view. My only complaint is that it was hard to tell some of the characters apart, due to them being drawn very similarly and that I found some of the text hard to read (visually.)

Can't wait for the next installment and it's definitely made me want to re-read the series!

This is my very first graphic novel, and I only bought it because it was Outlander and I found it cheap at a thrift shop. I picked it up because I wanted a quick read, and I have to say that I was surprised to find that I enjoyed it. I appreciate the new perspective of the story that Diana provided. I learned some things I had not realized before. I don't think that readers who have not read the actual Outlander book would enjoy it as much as those who have. I recommend knowing the story before going to the graphic novel.

I have one complaint about the book. Although the pictures were beautiful, I had real difficulty telling any of the male characters apart, and that made at least the first third of the book fairly confusing for me. Once I sorted them out, the rest of the book was more enjoyable.

Was it the best graphic novel ever? No, but I also don’t really care for graphic novels in general. But did I enjoy getting Jamie’s side of the story and delving back into Scotland? Absolutely. If I ever rate an Outlander book less than 5 stars, just know that I was held hostage and forced to lie.

Picked it up at my library after reading book eight. This brought me right back to the start of it all and made me thankful for ever reading the book(s) to begin with.

Disappointing but then again, I hate graphic novels. Found it hard to distinguish the different male characters from the drawings - they all looked so similar. And who was this Kenneth guy?
