Every R.S. Grey book I’ve ever read us like a breath of fresh air & this one was no exception. Connor & Natalie drove me insane at times, but I really enjoyed the banter between them. This book was so much fun to read! I had a hard time putting it down. There was a hint of something within the story that has me hoping there are plans for another book!

4.5 Stars!!
“Womankind has taken a vote and you are it, Connor, the one we all want.”
“The conviction in his voice, the absolute confidence–it feels like he plunged a dagger coated with poison straight into my gut. His words have seeped into my bloodstream and now he’s infected me, a permanent torture.”
“You’ve done this to me. You’ve turned me inside out.”
Doctor Dearest is the latest romantic comedy from author R.S. Grey. With her signature wit and charm, R.S. Grey has delivered a swoon worthy and unforgettable love story.
Doctor Dearest follows the story of Natalie & Connor. In Natalie’s mind, she doesn’t exist to Connor, but she couldn’t be further from the truth. Connor notices her alright, but the problem is that Natalie’s brother, also happens to be Connor’s best friend. And you know what they say? Sisters are off limits. However, fate has other plans for Natalie & Connor. When Connor’s home is being renovated, Natalie’s brother invites to Connor to stay with them. Suddenly Natalie & Connor are around each other all the time and their attraction to one another is harder to deny. Will Connor & Natalie take a chance and give into their feelings?? There’s only one way to find out…..
Doctor Dearest is romantic perfection. It’s well written and sexy. The characters were a lot of fun and kept me on my toes. I loved the banter between Natalie & Connor and I thought their chemistry was off the charts. The two of them just burned up the pages together and I loved every delicious second of tension. Natalie & Connor were a lot of fun to get to know and I couldn’t help but fall for the two of them.
Natalie & Connor are doctors who love what they do and are good at it. They both live and breathe their work. Connor is arrogant and has good reason to be. That arrogance led to some really great determination. He’s a man that knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. And then we’ve got Natalie. Natalie is young and at the top of her class. She’s amazing at her job and isn’t afraid to point out when someone is doing something wrong. She’s fiercely independent and guards her heart. Together, these two were an explosive match. Their feeling were real and honest. There were fears that had to be overcome & feelings in desperate need of acknowledgment. I loved watching these two try to figure things out and roll with the punches life threw at them. They kept me glued to the pages and begging for more.
Doctor Dearest is hands down, one of my favorite brother’s best friend romances. From sizzling chemistry, witty banter and entertaining humor, this story gave me all the feels and left me with a huge smile on my face. Yes, there was some drama and angst, but nothing over the top. In the end, I had the happiest of tears in my eyes. This book was everything that I was looking for….

Took me a bit to really get into the story but once it started it wasn’t too bad. I kind of wished you got to see more of Connor and Natalie’s earlier meetings. The fact that they both liked each other for awhile but you didn’t really get to explore that before they admitted to wanting to try something kind of was bleh. Also was not expecting a pregnancy mid book. Surprise pregnancy is not one of my favorites. I mainly kept reading because of Connor. Connor was surprisingly great.
4.5! such a sweet and lighthearted book, connor and natalie definitely stole my whole heart but the whole miscommunication slow burn + pregnancy was not entirely my thing
Like always, I’m always excited when I see a new release by R.S. Grey. I started out loving Doctor Dearest, I have to admit that. This gave me Grey’s Anatomy vibes and I was living for it. However, once I got more into it I ended up just finding it pretty average and I'm pretty sad about it.
We were given two characters who knew that they had feelings for each other and weren't fighting those feelings. I loved that because we didn’t have to deal with majority the book with them not acknowledging those feelings. Sadly, it went from the characters being adults about the situation to them acting childish, especially Natalie. There is an age difference between her and Easton and it shows. Which leads me to my biggest gripe about this and her last novel His Royal Highness. She writes these characters who have a few years between them and the protagonists end up being so immature!
Natalie made me shake my head so much. She longed for Easton for so long, but once she finally got him her grasps she does everything to ruin it. She acted out and wanted to play these mind games that weren’t necessary. She kept trying to make it seem as if their relationship was strictly causal when Easton was all in. Besides her immature moments, her brushing off Easton really bugged me. He showed her so many times that he wanted more than just right now but it seemed like she would run every time.
With all of the things that bugged me, I have to admit that the chemistry between the two characters was done beautifully. You could feel the yearning and all of those forbidden feelings through the pages. I can say that I haven’t felt such chemistry between two characters in an R.S. Grey book.
All in all, I did enjoy it more than her last release but not by much. I rated it three stars because the chemistry was on point and I did enjoy the scenes with her brother and her best friend. TBH, I would totally read a story about them.
I received an ARC via the author for an honest review.

This started out promising and I like her writing style and humor but there was absolutely no character development and they acted like children to be honest.
“Torturous, isn’t it?” he says, his tone sending a shiver down my spine. “Wanting something and knowing you can’t have it?”
R.S. Grey’s romcoms will forever be my happy place. I love them so much! I’m never disappointed when a new one comes out and I savor every page because I long for a never ending story. Doctor Dearest was absolutely wonderful!
“For years, I’ve lived in silence about my feelings. For years I’ve had to watch Natalie from afar, knowing she was untouchable.”
Connor Easton is serious and reserved. He’s handsome and intelligent and the doctor every woman dreams of. He’s been in love with Natalie for as long as he can remember, but has never been able to act on his feelings because she’s his best friend’s sister.
“Are you drunk?”
One of her eyes narrows in thought. “Define drunk.”
“Inebriated. Three sheets to the wind. In your cups.”
She grins. “Yes, that one. Sounds very dignified. I’m ‘in my cups’.”
Natalie Martin is independent and determined. She’s also absolutely hilarious! I laughed so much while reading her chapters. All her life she heard her mother tell her she needed to pave her own path and not depend on a man or let a man become her dream. Natalie has made this her life motto and therefore never has time to even think of a man, let alone her brother’s best friend, the gorgeous Dr. Connor Easton.
These two were so stubborn it was hilarious. There were moments when I wanted to jump into the novel and shake some sense into them. Their personalities were so alike, so determined, and so sure in their thoughts that it clouded how they perceived the other’s feelings.
R.S. Grey always knows how to write these hilarious characters, but at the same time you can totally relate to them. Natalie was in her head most of the time, convincing herself that Connor wasn’t in love with her and Connor was afraid to go too fast and ruin everything, while still trying to convince himself he wasn’t betraying his best friend’s trust. It just took them a little time and the right circumstances to realize they belonged together.
Doctor Dearest was super entertaining. If you’re a fan of Grey’s Anatomy I recommend you pick this one up!
*A huge thanks to R.S. Grey for providing me with an eARC for review. All thoughts are my own.*
