Connor and Natalie. They’re both surgeons at the same hospital, he was a teacher/mentor for her, she’s his best friend’s little sister and of course, they both harbor secret feelings for each other. Forced cohabitation, surprise pregnancy, lots of tropes with this one.
We’re told that he’s calm, cool, collected, the most amazingly level-headed person. Until he’s with her and EVERYTHING falls apart. He seriously overreacts. She’s been taught by her mom to protect her self and to be strong alone.
HEA and the final scene is totally adorable. But most of the preceding scenes felt like the two MCs were acting out of character.

This was such an amazing book and I can't stop thinking about it. I LOVE Connor and Natalie!!
Somehow R.S. Grey always manages to write the exact perfect amount of, well, everything. It has complex and completley lovable characters, sexual and so angsty tension that it will make you want to fan yourself, and oh-so-sweet and emotional and hilarious moments all tangled up in a thing called a perfect book.
If you haven't figured it out by now, I absolutely love her books and can't wait until I get to read the rest of them. R.S. Grey has quickly become one of my favourite to-go authors, because I know she will always make me happy with her characters, stories and writing - it is happiness in written form.

Doctor Dearest is more proof that R.S. Grey can do no wrong in my eyes. (Not that I needed it, you understand.) Rachel is one of my rom-com go-to's. She never lets me down.
Reading Doctor Dearest was basically like watching Grey's Anatomy. But, you know, without all the heartbreak and drama for the sake of drama. (I say this as a former die-hard Grey's fan.) Natalie and Connor's brother's best friend romance ticked all my boxes. They were so fun and swoony. I loved that there wasn't a lot of time wasted with the two of them. It seemed like there was a smidge of unrequited love early on, but it didn't take long to move past that. These two had oodles of chemistry and I couldn't get enough of them.
Both Natalie and Conner were fantastic characters. I appreciated her strength and "I don't need a man" attitude. Except, you know, she clearly *wanted* Connor. And really, who can blame her? He was hot, smart and driven. And her brother's best friend. It's like catnip for me. There are definitely some challenges thrown their way, but I loved how they navigated everything. If you're looking for a rom-com to make you giggle and give you some feels, look no further. This is the one you need in your life.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Congratulation to R.S. Grey, another fantastic book, I'm not sure how you do you it, but please don't stop!
This book was just what I needed to get out of my reading slump. It was everything I need and more.
Dr. Natalie Martin is a young, brilliant attending, who just finished her recidency and is starting her fellowship at the hospital in the BICU. Natalie lives with her brother Noah. She's independent, smart, a tad bit neurotic and never want to depend on anyone, especially not a man. Despite this, she's always harbored a serious crush on her brother's best friend, Connor.
Dr. Connor Easton, plastic surgeon for burn victims, all around brilliant supervisor and mentor, oh and drop dead gorgeous, needs a place to stay while his house is being renovated. When Noah, Natalie's brother, decides to take a leave of absence from the hospital and offers Connor to stay in the house with Natalie so he can keep an eye on her.
What Noah and Natalie don't know is that Connor has also had a major crush on Natalie for several years.
Sparks start to fly and their chemistry is absolutely sizzling. The passion they have for their jobs and for each other make for a brilliant story that is well researched and filled with detailed descriptions of what it's like to work at a hospital.
Connor and Natalie have the clever, witty banter and the palpable sexual tension that have become synonymous with R.S. Grey's writing, they're wonderfully written and the two characters, along with the rest of the crew, are sure to keep you entertained. The couple go through their fair share of struggles, but my goodness, when they figure everything out, it's absolute bliss.
If you're in the mood for a Doctor/brother's best friend romance, be sure to pick this one up. You'll love it and I hope that Noah and Lindsey will get a book, because whew those two had chemistry.
Thanks to the author for generously providing me an ARC to review.

After falling back in love with RS Grey after HRH and one of my favorites being Hotshot Doc, I was excited to read this one. And was left...disappointed.
I'd loved that Grey's books seemed to avoid the stereotype of controlling/dominating/capital-A Alpha males; while most of the love interests are definitely the steady, sturdy counterparts to the MC's almost manic energy, I was so turned off with a lot of Connor's behavior. The ego and cockiness, I can forgive and even appreciate, but there's a point after the MC and LI initially get together and The Big Thing happens where Connor calls her and doesn't answer. He proceeds to get upset and worried, then acknowledges he's being crazy, and then tells her she needs to make sure she always answers when he calls.
Okay, fine, whatever. They're obsessed with each other!!! It's totally okay!!!!!
Except, it's not. That's the tip of their unhealthy behavior together. I get that they've been into each other a long time and, as a result, there's a lot of pent up sexual energy. Cool, that's fun! But there are several times in the book where they need to talk and one of them avoids the conversation by initiating sex. Then they get mad because some misunderstanding happens because - spoiler alert - they haven't talked about it!!
I love R.S. Grey's books; she writes heroines that are funny, messy, and cute. She's found a formula and character styles - manic pixie dream girl MC and uber-hot, always been secretly in love with MC Love Interest - that work for her. But this one was a solid miss for me. As hard as I tried, I could not get into Connor or their relationship.
However, I'd be very, very into a book about Natalie's brother Noah.

I love RS Grey's books and I think I've read every one. I really liked this book, but it wasn't quite as good as other books by this author.
There wasn't quite enough of Connor's POV, especially how he felt about Natalie leading up to the present time. It was a little like their relationship came out of nowhere. What he said to her and what he was thinking/feeling didn't seem to match. That being said, the book was quite enjoyable til about the 70% mark (or so), when the back and forth with her wanting/not wanting to be with him became a little tiresome.
The medical aspects of the book were well-written without glaring inaccuracies (pet peeve of mine!). The main characters themselves were likeable and a good fit for each other. I would have just liked more depth to their story and Connor's feelings.

Okay, so this was not my favourite R.S. Grey book by far. It was way more sweet love story, than the fun, flirty rom-com I have come to love from R.S. In saying that I still enjoyed the story just not as much as I'd hoped.
What a fun book! Another fine example of this author’s joie de vivre writing style. It’s mostly funny but it has its heartfelt moments, with a itty bit of angst. In other books, I usually love the male character the most, but in R.S. Grey’s book, the female character is the hoot. Funny, clumsy, always present, always kind, and in times of crisis, slightly wacko. It’s like reading your best friend in print.
This is the story of two dedicated doctors; Dr. Natalie Martin is a new fellow in pediatric burn surgery, and Dr. Connor Easton is an attending in plastic surgery. Since burn surgery is connected with plastic surgery, Natalie has studied under Connor’s direction and assisted in some of his surgeries. Furthermore, Connor is her brother Noah’s best friend.
The crazy part of this story is that Natalie has had a crush on Connor for years and kept it quiet (little sister syndrome). Likewise, Connor has had feelings for Natalie and kept quiet for professional reasons (student and attending). Now that Nat is a full-fledged doctor, the coast is clear and Connor is on the prowl! He has his work cut out for him because Nat is fiercely independent and self-reliant, product of her upbringing and her mother’s lessons. Natalia leads Connor on a merry dance, but Natalie is an intelligent woman and she knows that Connor is one of the few good ones. She has a conundrum: should she settle for being a doctor, married to the hospital, or try to have it all, her work and her man and possibly, kids?
This is a fun story, with a surprise you have to read to find out. It’s delightful and heartwarming, with secondary characters as lovely as the principals, totally entertaining and adorable. Now I want Noah’s and Sydney’s story!

Enjoyable enough. However, not much of a plot. And Natalie was immature and difficult to like.
