"Mm." -Blake
He huffs. Or scoffs. Or laughs condescendingly. -Mercer

This book has huge wow factor! We don't miss a moment of the relationship and we are right there for all the drama!
Blake, the grumpy "private contractor" saves Mercer, the spoiled brat rich boy, and just decides to keep him for awhile. Mercer is determined to be the center of all Blake's attention at all times and will go to great lengths to get it. Somehow, all their prices fit together in this entertaining, hilarious, and intriguing book!

Thank you for the ARC! I loved every minute of reading it!

3.5⭐️ couldve been shorter with some repetition edited out.

I think attention seeking brat might just be my new favourite type of character.

Mercer was fucking hilarious with his antics and snark. I could read an entire series about his character alone. Blake and his family dynamic I also highly enjoyed, their understanding and accepting attitudes were a nice contrast to Mercer's shit house family.

I'm gonna need books about the rest of the brothers now. For sure. In the meantime, I'll be adding this one to my 'books I need a physical copy of' list so I can have a re-read whenever I need a laugh.

This book!!!
I fricking love this book. Mercer and Blake are perfection.

MERCER BENTLYY; SO DAMN PRECIOUS. Protect him at all costs. I acc love him sm. He truly is a lil demon and he's so funny and demanding but he's vulnerable too and urgh he's precious. I loved seeing his development and getting everything he deserved.

Blake Carter; Boyfriend Goals. He's so fricking perfect, the way he just loves mercer for exactly who he is

Mercer and Blake

Blake is the youngest son (30) in a family of assassin/spies. Mercer is the youngest in a wealthy business family. Blake's oldest brother is engaged to Mercer's oldest sister and Blakes father asked him to keep an eye on Mercer because he is not sure what the family is up to. Mercer is a mess and has had a really messed up childhood and likes to flaunt around and wear lingerie. He is demanding, bratty, and unreliable. Blake falls for him almost immediately. It turns out there is a whole secret plot because Mercer is not really his father's son, but his nephew. The father arranged to have Mercer's parents killed when he was a baby because he thought he would inherit his sister's money but she really left it to Mercer. He has been manipulated psychologically his entire life. His older sister is kind of in on it but the younger sister is not. There's a lot of back-and-forth with figuring out what is really going on. Other main characters are Blakes brothers Brandt and Bronson and his best friend Aaron. There is also a fun minor character named Dee who is a former hook up of Blakes and becomes a friend to Mercer. In the end, Mercer's oldest sister gets implicated in the murder of some other woman along with her girlfriend. Blake and Mercer kill Mercer's father/uncle right before they get married.

This book was cute and different. It was somewhat slow for the first half but picked up in the second half and the plot moved along. Overall, I didn't love the characters and I found the plot confusing and over the top. But it was still fun.

4 stars

This was amazing and pretty much exactly what I was in the mood to read!

Little Demon in the Details is the story of Mercer, a needy, attention seeking brat (his words) and Blake, a surprisingly patient and emotionally intelligent hitman who is great at reading people, and (in Mercer's words) a "romantic murderer".

There is so much hurt-comfort in this, and surprisingly little angst considering the level of brattiness that Mercer displays (very high brattiness). As it turns out, Mercer's bratty behavior stems from a lifetime of trauma and undiagnosed PTSD, and Blake accepts him and falls for him hard exactly how he is.

Oh, and there's a lot of sex. I didn't really know what a cumslut was before reading this...and I feel like I've just gotten a very thorough education. But...it's not just kinky sex for kinky sex's sake (although, that would have been great too). The kinky sex legit feels like part of the healing process for Mercer as well as Blake. I just loved everything about their relationship.

The plot is pretty contrived, and at points, a little ridiculous. But the story is not really about murder for hire and family secrets, it's about Blake and his little demon and it's wonderful.
