LEO HERNANDEZ, SIR!

It's so hard to pick a favorite MMC in this series, but mannnnn Leo may take the cake! This man is delicious!

I loved the backstory with he & Mary, and how fate seemed to bring them back into each other's orbit years later. While I felt so hard for Mary and her high school self, I loved her "glow up" where she came into her own, pursued her dream, & forged her own path without a man! She was true to herself & she is a total badass!

Leo is just *chef's kiss* , with his huge heart that he hides behind the playboy facade! How he was so heartbroken when he thought his gamer crush ghosted him, ugh! I adored him so much, and can we also just appreciate this man's mouth! BLESS IT! He is filthy filthy, and I looooove it!

He and Mary are a couple that will live in my head for a while to come!

PS: I LOVE the girl group! They are girlfriend goals with how they support one another and are just THERE for each other! I loved this dynamic being shown over and over!

PPS: The epilogue made me bawl! (in a good way!!)

4.5 ⭐️Hail Mary is the final book of the Red Zone Rivals series. This one definitely brought more feels and angst than the others, and I was all for it! After getting to know Mary a bit in Quarterback Sneak, I was not sure how much I would relate/ enjoy her character, but her character growth was outstanding and the emphasis on the friendships she’s made after a not so great HS experience made it all the better. Leo was everything you look for in a book boyfriend, especially because he fell first and wanted to prove to Mary he was not the person people make him out to be. I was routing for him from the first page and the slow burn paid off. The epilogue was also a great closure to the entire series with glimpses into each of the couples’ lives.

Read if you like:
-Sports romance
-He falls first and hard
-Cinnamon roll hero
-Second chance
-Forced proximity (roommates)
-Heroine who loves gaming
-Tattooist artist

Ten cuidado con su corazón

Oh, Leo F*cking Hernandez, what did you do to my heart?!

I read romance to believe that my own HEA is out there waiting for me, but when I can pick up a book like this one... WOW, does it make the others lack in comparison! Saying this book took me through every emotion is just too simple of a phrase. My heart ached when their hearts broke, I effortlessly smiled with the warmth of a letterman's jacket, I clenched tightly with each filthy word, I screamed out loud waiting for the long pass and I cried tears when they laid their vulnerabilities on the turf.

Getting to see how Mary and Leo met after reading the tension in the previous books was so eye-opening, not only in laying out their foundation but the fundamentals of who they turned out as people. The banter was on point, the friendships (can I just get a hug, please?!), and watching this large group of friends grow into the family they all deserved had me turning page after page. Mary is a breath of fresh air. She's struggled to embrace who she wants to be, but she's learned she's worth it. Leo is, well, I'm not sure there are enough words to let you know just how delicious this man is. My heart is pounding as I sit here and think about their journey together in this book, and I'm not sure I've rooted for two characters more.

I didn't think this author could give me someone I would love more than Holden, but Leo was ABSOLUTELY everything. I'm so incredibly sad to be saying goodbye to this found family of drool-worthy football men, but it's been an incredible ride!

Um... excuse me? This book has no business being as endearing as it is. Slow burn, lovers to rivals to lovers, this book has all the tropes I love and torpedoed me out of a reading slump. It did stall about halfway in, but then soon jumps into major character growth. The smut isn't cringe, the characters are fun, and overall it was a quick read.

Leo mf Hernandez.

Hail Mary

Ok, this book surprised me in all the best ways. I love a good second-chance romance and this was that!

I was worried when we found out this was going to be Mary’s story because for me, she wasn’t a very likable character in Quarterback Sneak she was very cocky.

Don’t get me wrong I didn’t want her to be a weak heroine either I just didn’t want her to be so arrogant that she couldn’t see past herself.

I loved the plot of this story, childhood friends turned enemies to then turn to lovers. It was done perfectly. I loved how Mary stayed strong and resilient but also opened herself up to Leo and he listened.
I felt the chemistry with these two right from the get-go even when they were fighting it.
I loved that all the guys rallied to make Mary welcome.

The narration was perfection in every way.

Now on to False Start, the book that I have been looking forward to that made me go and read these before I could start that one.

I don’t know if I’ve ever connected with a character as much as I did with Mary. From never feeling like she truly fit in to feeling like you have to hide a part of yourself in order for others to see you, Mary quickly grew into someone I admire. She took the pain she felt as a teen and channeled it into living her authentic self and keeping her heart guarded.
