strongly enjoyed this book. there were a few moments in which I thought she could be a bit more critical, but overall, beautiful, informative, and accessible, thought-provoking book on the need for seed. i experience the beneficial effects of nature access in my life and it's something I've recently been curious about. i know feel much more informed. i want a garden. the power of a garden. there is a kind of ancient or primordial power of spring, of slowly watching a fern unfurl, or a seed you planted poke out of the soil, bright and clean. food for future thought. dualism. the wild.

This was a straightforward and easy to listen to exploration of our need for nature, with a focus on mental health. Some of the research and scientific mechanisms I already knew, but there were also new things for me to learn. I also appreciated that there were a few practical solutions and calls to action. An enjoyable but probably not very memorable book for me.

I didn't necessarily come out of reading this feeling massively more informed but it did help me to feel more grounded in my place in the world and more connected to nature.

This was great. It's not super depressing (unless you have no clue what's going on), it's hopeful and it talks about some of what's being done. It's definitely motivating to get out into the dirt(soil) more and smell everything green.
