I love these illustrations. The writing can be a bit jarring, but so fun.

Highly enjoyed this quirky book about different types of homes (including some that are completely imaginary). I think it will spark a fun discussion with Violet and I love that it ends with the author making a personal connection.

more about the art than info, also worried about some or the stereotypes + imaginary homes

Simply beautiful. A must-read for anyone who loves children's literature. An instant classic.

Such a beautifully illustrated little book about homes. It was lovely to look at the illustrations with my little sister who adored the pictures. Although I would've loved if there was more of a story to each, but it was fun to come up with little tales too.

This is the cutest book. I love the whimsical art and the way the story just flows...I so enjoyed reading through it with little ones and looking at all the pictures closely. The end is perfection!

This book is amazing! I love the diversity and range of representation here. Everyone has a home and they come in many different forms. I really enjoyed that there are fantasy and science fiction characters here too. And every home is shown to be just as important as the next. Excellent!

For: readers looking for a book on different types of homes and ways of living.

Possible red flags: some readers may not appreciate the fantasy/science fiction elements or the diversity.

I enjoyed the art style used in this book but ultimately found the story fell flat. The story would begin to have a certain rhythm and then suddenly a line would throw that rhythm out of wack. Others have also pointed out that some depictions of houses were a bit racially insensitive, and I had noticed that as well during my reading. So I quite enjoyed certain pages and found the drawings to be lovely but overall wasn't completely sold on this book.
