Such a good book, love it... love their chemistry, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Really good book. As always, I liked that it was narrated by the two protagonists, so that we can have an inside of what they're thinking. I really liked the characters and how the relationship between them evolved. I really enjoyed the plot and I liked all the magic and (kind of) medieval stuff they had going on. I struggled to understand how the feelings of hate and sexual attraction can coexist but it's my fault because I'm just not wired like that lol. The plot didn't feel rushed at any point, neither did the love feelings between Scarlett and Quinn. The sex was good. I'm excited to read the other books.

I loved the concept, the execution however was lesser than my expectations. It’s a fast paced read with short chapters, interesting enough to keep my attention. On the negative side, the writing felt very juvenile, I wasn’t invested in the plot or the characters. The world building was just above surface level. Scarlett and Quinn had some repetitive, cringy lines, their romance developed from “we hate each other and want to fuck” to “we like each other and want to fuck” in a fast time, there wasn’t as much development as I’d like. I really had higher hopes for this book because so many people love it :(

I hate that romances have to follow all the same tropes. The secret keeping was fine but the enemies to lovers was not done well. It was unnecessary. This was cool magic and world building. A fun story. There could have just been some enthusiastic consensual queer smut sprinkled in. It is good enough that I'll add the next to my TBR but if it is copy and paste same tropes, I'll DNF.
