There were far more things I liked about this one than disliked. I disliked the first 100 pages being pretty slow, but then it took off. It was a long read, some things in it that didn't need to happen for the story to go how it did, and some other things that could have been left out completely; but this was absolutely a worthwhile read. 4.5 stars is more accurate, I think.

I loved learning about the traditions and beliefs of the Ojibwe.
And in my opinion the main character highlighted the struggle of having a mixed heritage pretty well.

However I thought the plot twists in the end were getting a little too much and crazy and I'm actually still wondering what was in the love potion, that made the meth different. Maybe I didn't understand it, but I'm pretty sure it was never explained.

Also I kinda hated the romance aspect of the book. I know every human can develop feelings, but it all seemed so unprofessional. Like why are you working in the fbi at 22? ( maybe he was lying about that too ig? I'm not sure).
To be honest I'm happy they didn't stay together because the relationship felt kinda weird, rushed and forced.

3.5 // read for my school’s book club; one of the better YA’s I’ve come across both in writing and in plot

There is a LOT that happens. Be prepared. But this was an overall fantastic read.

It was cool to learn about Native American culture but the rest of the story was a flop for me. I gotta stop reading YA lol
