The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden is a fast-paced psychological thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. The story unfolds through two different perspectives, each revealing just enough to make you question everything you think you know.

McFadden masterfully switches between timelines and narrators, building tension with every chapter. The unreliable characters, the dark secrets, and the unexpected twists make it nearly impossible to put the book down.

I hadn’t read a thriller in a while, and wow, The Boyfriend gave me chills. From the very first chapter, I was hooked.

I think this book was just not for me. Definitely had an exciting turn but I didn’t care enough about any of the characters for it to even be like shocking. It was painful sometimes to listen to the main characters internal dialogue. I also hate the “I love her so much I just want to strangle her” it’s so weird. I can’t stand excessive violence towards women as a main plot like why would I want to read that in fiction when it happens so much I’m reality??? Like simply I could just read the news lolol

Easy read. I enjoyed the dual timelines. Tom’s chapters were my favorite. I never would have guessed the twist/ending.

I've read a few Freida McFadden books now and I thought this was the first one where I worked it out before it's spelled out for you, but nope! Another enjoyable read, I finished this in two sittings.
