Every book Elsie writes is better than the last, and West and Skylar's story is no exception. It was EVERYTHING. Sweet and funny and sexy and the way they're both so protective over one another and bounce off each other with their banter...GAHHH.
They had me from the very first page.

Cute, emotional, amazing characters, etc etc. This books gave me hella warm fuzzies for sure. The conflict was far-fetched enough to be interesting but realistic enough that you weren’t thrown out of the story.

I finished this book in all of one single day…

I loved Skylar and I loved Weston. Skylar reminds me a lot of me actually and reading this was really fun.

Skylar is talented, capable, intelligent, and fiery.  the hard moments and the struggling made reading her story so much fun and so much more in depth.

Weston Belmont is my favorite male character in all Elsie Silvers books so far. He is outgoing, a phenomenal fun dad, and someone who just loves everyone around him. He protects and cares for Skylar through this book in a way that feels as though he just knew it was her. And that’s my favorite kind. He beat up her dad and he was just willing to scrap and protect his people in a way that doesn’t usually happen outside of fantasy books.

A genre I’m quickly learning to love (maybe because it strikes home for me a little) is when the FMC is avoidant and the MMC is all in and is convincing her/ waiting for her to figure it out.

The side characters are so easy to love as well, the kids especially. Ollie is so gentle and perfect, and Emmy is a spitfire and just reading about West with them is like reading abt the perfect husband and father. This book is funny that way.

I really loved how the book just picked up and moved, we saw Skylar is the dumpster and we saw her rise and return and rise anew. The plot was fun while touching serious topics. I am really excited to read book 3!

This book was everything I didn't know I needed from a love story. The banter between West and Skylar was perfect. The clever quips and heartfelt moments had me completely wrapped up in the story. Elsie Silver does a magnificent job describing the beauty of the Canadian landscape. The peace and serenity that comes from being out on a ranch like the one West owns. From beginning to end the plot was funny, emotional, and engaging. The connections between the characters were written beautifully. Even the side characters were fun and memorable. Especially as someone who started this series on book 2. The few glimpses of Ford, Rosie, and the other characters have me wanting to read the other books in this series. Hearing this story told in dual narration by Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood was beautiful. Both narrators brought incredible emotion to the roles and the story. Since this is a romance of course the heat was high, but even though the spice was well written it didn't take over the story, really allowing the plot to shine. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cowboy romance, single dad romance, and a back talking bird.
