Everyone is saying they find Noah insufferable but I think he's such a unique character, obviously all of these reviews can't handle a realistic mc and just want some kind happy mc. Noah is pretty realistic for a teen. He was a bit annoying at times, I did think he was being a bit dramatic about Drew because Im gonna be honest, I do think Drew really did like him. But other than that I don't think Noah would be a good boyfriend to his current bf anyway. But yup, that's all there really is to it.

the most insufferable and entitled main character i have ever read in a book.

when i did my read-through, i didn't think the book was too bad. not great, but not too bad. the more i discussed irritation points with a friend who also tried reading it, the more i realized i disliked it. there are a lot of very irritating things in this book. unlikeable main characters are one thing if done well, where you can somewhat understand their point of view, or AT LEAST if there is some character development throughout the book or towards the end. this book doesn't provide that - just a ridiculous MC with an obnoxious personality, an unrealistic story (who the frick just creates a fake blog to share fake love stories for trans people....), and so much entitlement you feel like you're talking to the hiltons or the kardashians.

Noah annoyed the heck out of me
funny hopeful lighthearted fast-paced

I finished, nay, devoured this book in a day. Noah was such an interesting protagonist, a hopeless romantic with altruistic goals of being a beacon of hope for the trans community at just sixteen years old. Unfortunately for Noah, he is his own worst enemy. He is the main character of his own life, in real life and online, which blinds him to everyone else's problems and causes him to act in selfish ways that he has to apologize for constantly. I understood that the author wanted a flawed MC who is trans, so I was able to overlook a lot of Noah's messiness for most of the novel. Although the Drew storyline fell flat and disappeared abruptly, I enjoyed how supportive Noah's family and friends were and how the story normalized the use of different pronouns.

2.5*
Noah is such an annoying character, it was hard to like any part of this book. He literally whined and complained about everything and was such a brat.

I read this per recommendation by a friend, and I'll be completely honest: I absolutely hated the first 150 pages. I found Noah, the main character, extremely annoying, and everything seemed very surface level - it was driving me nuts, and I rolled my eyes more than once.
But, as you see, I've given this book 4/5 stars. And that's because, well...
OMFG this is such a good book! It lives up to its name, and although the cover made me a bit sad by the end, this was such a cute read! I loved the development of Noah, and although a few things still didn't seem as tight and well-executed as I'd like, I ended up gobbling up the book in a few days! Devin was def. my favourite character, but I'm asexually biased xD The pacing did seem to slow down here and there, and the ending felt a bit abrupt - though that might be because the last page of my copy had texted all the way down, so I thought there was another one. That's my mistake for assuming, not the book!
I can't give it 5 stars, because I really didn't like the first drag. I had to force myself to keep going, but oh boy, was it worth it! I've already preordered Emery Lee's next book, and I'm very excited to see what's in store!

i don’t think i can add much more to this book than the most liked reviews. it’s an okay book. the writing is good. the mc though is really unlikable and made it really difficult for me to continue reading it.

i honestly just finished it for the sake of finishing it.

do i regret reading it? no.

would i recommend it? also no.

I got this book 2 ish years ago without reading reviews. Before I read it I looked at the reviews and I regretted buying it. So I still feel that way, yes.

The idea was cute and promising but the execution and characters were poor. It’s 2.5 for me I was going to rate it a 2 but knowing the author wrote the character to be annoying and selfish made me try and understand the character in that light a little bit more. That really didn’t save it from being a 2012 tumblr/wattpad type book. I have my wattpad guilty pleasures but this just was not it and the main character only dragged it down.
