This was either the best time of my life to read this book or the worst time. Either way, I read it and I thought a majority of the insights were quite impactful. However, the journal prompts were either too little or too much and didn't offer a whole lot of guidance for my own understanding of the material. I also found the talk about energies to be a bit woo-woo for my tastes.

I did appreciate the emotionally unavailable female representation and conversations around being emotionally unavailable as a female, including the somatic nervous system responses when we're emotionally unavailable and how to grow in ability to become more emotionally available by utilizing your physical responses to actions. The recognition to pause and process a response before acting on it was also very helpful.

Quite repetitive though isn't that a key to learning? For me, at least, this will help me remember more of content.
Some ideas relating to global/collective consciousness/healing through prayer/heart coherence that more sceptical people will probably struggle with.
Certainly, there's a presumption that the people in your life will be as open to the processes/language outlined in the book as you will be, and as a woman dating men in their 30s, that feels pretty unlikely.

There are some things in this that are a bit out there. Some things covered in other titles. Overall, a nice intro to somatic work. The 2nd half could have benefited from stronger editing for extra words in the text to the last page with know instead of now (should have been now).

I would ise this with a therapist or as part of a range of healing modalities.
