This book wrecked me in a way that few books have. Yeah, I've read books and series that I loved, but none them heart-stomped the way that this book did. True, part of it is due to nostalgia, because I've been reading this series for over 8 years, and most of that 8 years was my childhood, and also because these books have 24 books in the main series, 12 mangas, 4 superstar editions (at the time of this review), and 4 guides, so that's a hell of a lot of characters.

This last series, Omen of the Stars, has overall felt a little weak to me. It's part of the build-up: Erin Hunter's been preaching about the "3 warriors with the power of the stars in their paws" for 12 books now (well, more, but we've been following the main characters who are the ones foretold in the prophecy for 12 books) (also it's now the 4 warriors). When you have that much hype, it's hard to live up to it.

And the whole Dark Forest thing? Yeah, it was really starting to feel old. So, the first half of this book felt kind, oh, I don't know. Trite perhaps.

But then the battle started, and all I could think about was, "I don't care what happens to anybody else, I hope X character doesn't die!" And then Y character died, and Z, and XY, and XZ, and you get the picture. Then my thoughts were, "Dammit! I forgot to be worried about them! Agh! Why did THEY have to die? So tragic." D:

And then in the end, X character died as well. So all my hopes were for nought.

When the deaths started coming thick and fast, tears just started streaming down my face. I full on ugly cried for at least half an hour, and probably had a few residual tears after that. Let me tell you, it wasn't pretty. I can't remember the last time I cried this hard over a book (series). Deathly Hallows, maybe? Maybe it was Half-Blood Prince before that. Maybe.

But it was all worth it. All this pain, all this loss. Because this was one beautiful ride.

Wow...just wow.

It was amazing. It felt so great with all the clans joining together. It felt just like the battle with bloodclan but more heart breaking.

Pretty good overall, kinda cliche but I did want to cry bc Firestar and my childhood :'( but honestly I felt like it was rather rushed and things were glazed over. Also I like Squirrelflight but why choose her as deputy? That position shouldn't be given to some cat to make up for personal problems, but because they deserve it, and there were definitely some better choices...

also they definitely screwed up the ages of the cats and they have their timeline mixed a bit...

I'm rating this on the whole arc, not just this particular book, which I'm sure was alright, but since I got bored with the rest and just felt like I'd been at the dentist for four good long hours, I didn't give it a read. Quite honestly, this is the weakest of the Warriors franchise. The main characters that we spend the books with just couldn't catch my interest and the length of the main plot just felt dragged out by all the mini plots.

I had been waiting so long for this book, the final book in the Warrior series. It did not disappoint me!

I have been a fan of this series and Erin Hunter for five years now and was disappointed with the Seekers series. Cats have always been their specialty. This book was an amazing final book to the series and whether you are a huge fan of the series or not you will not be disappointed with this book

Writing a book like this can't be easy. Not only does it have to wrap up this arc, but sets out on the ambitious tasks of tying together all four arcs in the series. It does a pretty good job, all things considered.

For any fan of Warriors, I can almost guarantee there will be something about this book they like and something they don't. Many characters and plot lines from throughout the series are brought back up in different ways. I thought the way they connected this to the first arc was fantastic, but I imagine not every fan will agree with me on that.

There are several loose ends I would have liked to be tied up, but there's only so much you can do in one book. The Warriors series has always been opened ended at the conclusion of an arc, and this is no exception.

Reading this was engaging from the start, and I never wanted to put it down. The characters are as likable as they always are, and many of the older characters make a reappearance. The plot is classic Warriors, plenty of drama and battle to keep the reader engaged.

A good end to a great series that I'm glad to say I've been following for the past four years. It's been an awesome ride.

4.5/5 stars
