Picked it off the library shelf and devoured quickly. I’m a sucker for boarding school narratives. Didn’t realize until the last couple of pages that it was the first in a series. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I am too old to be waiting on sequels, but the ending was satisfying enough for me to forget about the rest when they come out.

The vibes of this hugely reminded me of A Good Girls Guide to Murder! I liked this (audio) bool a lot! It was quick paced and very intriguing. Sadly I didn't trust the people that the big plot twist is about from the very beginning. Therefore the reveal in the end didn't shock me and made me subtract a star. But the story was intriguing and interesting nonetheless! Especially after that cliffhanger at the end of the book, I immediately had to continue with the second book.

I really loved the mystery of this story. I don't generally read much mystery and so I wanted to give it a shot with this one. I can easily say that I will be reading more mystery novels because of this one and how well it was able to blend the plots of the mystery in the past and the new one in the present time. I thought I was going to hate the flashbacks but I actually didn't mind them (when I actually understood what was happening). The relationship between Stevie and her love interest was amazing as well! Her friends were also a huge reason of why I liked it as well. If you are looking for a great YA mystery then I would highly recommend this one!
