Giana has done it again. And this time with a friends to lovers story that got me good.

Nova and Lila's story is an intricate one. They have known each other since Lila was 5 and Nova was 17. He was the boy that was always there for her is some type of way, as her protector, brother figure, and then best friend. I love how the story starts off from the beginning and takes us all the way to present, it made me connect with Lila's love for Nova that much more.

I LOVED the garden and flower metaphors that filled this story. This story is a little more tender and romantic than the previous Fallen Men books, but it still had the rough edges that I love from the Fallen Men. Nova is really that, a Casanova, and even though I spent half the book yelling at him to get his head out of his a**, the ending was worth every second. Lila is such a beautiful, strong female lead, and I loved watching her grow into the strong women that she became, but still have the soft heart that makes her her.

The plot was again solid, with connections from the first four books, but still independent enough that if you picked this book up first, you wouldn't be that lost. I still encourage to start from the beginning, but I love how Giana is able to weave the overarching plot through all the books in this way. I think it is a unique talent to have the books all connected but still allow readers to jump into the series at any point.

This was unrequited love/friends to lovers done right, and another great installment in the Fallen Men Series.

Nova & Lila

I love the beginning of this book and the last 10% the most. I was really into the back story and their childhood. It makes you feel their bond & connection. Nova was showing us the tender caring side of him and I fell for it. Sadly it took him a while to get over himself and get back there. We didn’t get to see that side of him again until the last bit.
Lila I loved for the most part but again in the middle she came up a little desperate.

But they found their way. And the Fallen plot is still strong and keeping me into it.

this was meh, I liked the vibe of Lila she was a great flawed heroine but honestly I didn't see Nova's love for her at all. Also the amount of grammar, spelling and logical mistakes was super annoying, Giana needs to invest in a proper editor because this read like an unpolished draft

Giana! You keep writing books with things that make me second guess my sanity while I enjoy it whole heartedly. Kind of a large and strange age gap relationship but I’m in to that weird shit so. I again am writing this review too late to remember my tiny details I love but I love them together. Also I skip around in this series and I really don’t know why because I was very confused by some things ALSO SPOILER - how tf are people coming back from the (assumed dead) with no explanation ? Someone please go ahead and update me anyways 5/5 stars can’t wait for the new book so I can skip around more and read that one

5⭐️!!!!!!

I have no bad things to say about this book. I was expecting to love it because so many of my friends loved it, but my expectations were eviscerated.

MC, age gap, childhood friends, friends to lovers, forced proximity, a bit of unrequited love, brothers best friend, and a little bit of a slow burn.

I was a little iffy on how long the book focused on their backstory and history, but it was soooo necessary! I’m thankful for it now because it made everything between Nova and Lila feel so real and organic.

The characters in this series have my whole heart, but Lila specifically really took up most the space. I love her to pieces

Spice: 2.5/5
Plot: 5/5

Was this book perfect? No. Was it a 5 star read? Yes. Hands down. Absofuckinglutely.

Nova and Lila; chefs mother fuckin kiss. Perfection. I’m not normally a huge fan of friends to lovers but god damn. The way we got their history for the first 30% or so made such a difference in this book. Just everything about them starting from the very beginning and the way they met and then continuing on throughout the entire book, could not have been written any better. There’s so much I want to break down in this review but I just can’t cuz I refuse to spoil it for anyone.

Nova…. Fucking eh. I just want to wrap that man up in my arms and tell him exactly what Lila does. My heart broke for him. And Lila, my heart broke for her too. Fuuuck. I was so distraught and emotionally invested in these two I thought my heart was trying to claw its way out of my body at one point. Dramatic? Yes. But that’s exactly how it felt reading this lol.

I cannot go into more detail except to say, that there’s a reason everyone loves this book the most and it’s so hyped up. It’s 100% worth all of the praise it gets.

Full disclosure, it’s not perfect, just like the rest of the series isn’t. There’s some plot holes, some spelling and grammatical errors and one of the worst ick phrases I’ve encountered lol. Authors, for future reference if we could please refrain from using the term, “meaty club” to describe a dick, that would fantastic. Thank youuuu.

But once again, Giana has proven that when you have an amazing storyline, fantastic writing and some seriously incredible characters you can still have a 5 star book. Because at the end of the day the heart of the book is what it really comes down to, and the heart of this one is deep and gut wrenching and so so beautiful. So beautiful in fact that I just spent 80$ on a fucking stunning special edition of it lol. Yup, it was that good.

P.S. Go away now if you don’t want spoilers….

1. That fucking cunt of a therapist. Did anyone else wanna vag punch her as badly as I did!?
2. When we find out what actually happened with Meredith and how broken Nova was because of it. I was so wrecked for him.
3. When Nova just shuts the door in Lila’s face after she watches…. Fuuuuuck. That was when my stomach just collapsed. I’m pretty sure I actually stopped breathing for a minute.
4. When he tells her that he’s been hiding things in her tattoos! OMFG that might be the sweetest thing I’ve ever read. My heart was mush, it’s still mush. I will never get over this. It’s a new Roman Empire for me.
5. The way Nova broke when he looked at the inscription on the willow tree. I wept.
6. Do we think Javier is Lila’s dad? Cuz that’s kinda the vibe I’m getting and really leaning that way….
7. The way Irina got her face blown off… I felt really vindicated for everyone involved lol.

I could keep going lol, and I might at some point but fucking eh. I’m so glad y’all were right about this book. So THANK YOU to everyone who kicked my ass to read these!
