A fun, adventurous mystery with a loveable, cooky cast of characters. Not necessarily the most hard to solve mystery, but very fun and entertaining. Was funny in some parts and sweet and endearing in others. Very excited for a sequel! And I appreciated how many fun, clever, weird elderly characters there were, rather than stereotypes.

I enjoyed this to the point that the bad guy was not a good reveal?
like I know he was mentioned a bit in the book but not enough for the reveal to be interested or shocking

I did like Rosie and Steve and all that, the crew was quite cute but the reveal was lacking it's impact

What a page turner!! Loved it, kept me guessing till the end, which we love.

Richard Osmen's characters as always leap off the page. He just has a way with writing character that make them feel so real, and you connect to them so quickly and easily. Rosie was fab, a great laugh and Steve was just the sweetest!

Can't wait for more in the series!

Probably my least favourite Richard Osman book, although I still enjoyed it. I think a lot of my problems lie in loving Thursday Murder Club and it’s characters so much that I can’t help wishing we had another book with them, but that doesn’t make this book any less fun. Where “Thursday” is very cosy, this mystery is more action packed - not a bad thing, although I did find it easy to work out who the bad guys were (in the first half of the book). Where Osman really excels is in his emotional connection to the characters, you develop such empathy for the characters that they become living and breathing so quickly. It’s a real strength he has there and it makes me come back to his writing every year.
