Oh man this book was even hotter than the previous one and I loved every single dirty bit of it. I love how strong Iris is and how she never gives up. She had me laughing out loud several times throughout the book. I really like the connection that she has with the guys.
My favourite character is still Gabriel and I love that he had a bigger part in this book. There is also a new character that I absolutely love and adore.

Let me start this review off with say that the Authors of the book are not in any way at fault for the rating. The books writing was beautiful and it truly evoked a lot of emotions out of myself. So they truly did a smashing job on the writing. My issue was with the FMC. She downright pissed me off.
The FMC started off in the book “Four” as a strong woman that knew she was a spoiled mafia princess but when she lost her family, she instantly decided to change that. She wanted to become the strong independent woman. One that could take care of herself, help her new found family and knew when to stand down or stand up. So please tell me how in this book she became the dumbest person alive and just walked up to the doors of the enemy thinking she could just ask for her boyfriend back? How was that a though? Where did it cross your mind that “this is the best plan ever!” Don’t get me wrong, I fully support that she didn’t want left out of the plans to get the one MMC back but how was that the plan.
Then the FMC has the audacity to fall in love with a fourth man and be pissed at the other MMC’s when they are upset about sharing her. One MMC made a comment about him possibly finding another lady for himself and the FMC downright had a hissy fit. Her reasons for why he can’t are very hypocritical. She just went from this level headed FMC that became a warrior to be reckoned with to a very dramatic woman that thinks she knows best. The FMC just seemed to have a complete 180 of her personality.
The FMC truly just kinda annoyed me through the entire book and I really did not enjoy it compared to the first book in this duet. I think all the MMC’s were true to themselves through both books and I feel it was a perfect fit. With how much the FMC changed, this will be lower on my list to recommend to others but still that doesn’t take away from the authors writing skills. They surely provoked emotions and feelings out of me, so they for sure get a wonderful rating but the FMC just drove me a little nuts.

Why on earth did I decide to read this book? And why did I not DNF it? What am I doing with my time? These are just some of the questions that plagued me while I was reading this waste of words called a book. Not that it’s bad, just that it’s…unnecessary. No no, it’s also definitely bad.
I was always uninterested in whiny little Gabriel, but instead of maturing over the couple years since we met these people last, he instead crossed all limits of stupidity in this one. He’s like a 12 year old throwing tantrums and crying for his toy and it grates on the last nerve. He also thinks he’s hot and smart shit but goes and makes the stupidest decision at the first moment possible, putting his entire family in danger. He behaves like a child but oh he’s mature enough to have kinky sex. Barf. It’s not even hot. A pierced dick does not chemistry make. It’s bad when you want one of the main characters to be killed off. I was really rooting for that. Harsh but it would be better for all mankind.
Of course, Iris decides to one up them all in the stupidity stakes immediately and makes everything worse. Yay for us. Shoot me now. At least due to that we meet the new guy. I would trade new guy for idiot Gabe in a heartbeat, because at least they have sparks and he has a brain. However, the speed at which Iris gets horny for new guy emphasizes the fact that her relationship with these men and especially Gabe is founded on sex alone, and even that doesn’t read sexy. Not slut shaming, but if it’s that easy for her to be into this new guy she should seriously reconsider her life choices. Gabe of course is a worthless piece of trash who can barely see beyond forcibly grabbing Iris by the

It could have ended at Four, but this was a decent follow-up. Adding her new guy was a bit of a stretch in terms of Iris and the Blacks, but it managed to work out in the end.
I had no idea there would be another book in this world, but I was more than happy to read it. You do need to read Four before you read this and I was personally happy to be back with the Blacks. I'm not going to spoil this, but lets just say that if you thought Four was steamy and suspenseful, then get ready for Five to blow you away. The story was fast paced, it was hotter than heck and it for sure had me not really wanting to put it down. I finished this in one sitting. It seems like this is an writing duo I certainly wouldn't mind reading more from. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

💀 Why Choose
💀 Families That Torture Together, Stay Together
💀 Knife Play
3.25/5 🌟
5/5 🌶
I enjoyed the addition of just one more MMC into the Black Family. Though it all got a bit repetitive by the end, the plot was still engaging.
Start and end we're all spice. With so many people involved, how could it not be. And finally some group scenes.
