This book was 600 pages for no reason, took forever and a day for them to get together to a third act breakup that actually sucked. She wrote him to be a confident man who knows and gets what he wants then he turned insecure and unsure of himself and it was contradicting. blah
i really think i enjoy the dynamic of a boss to lovers with a mix of rude grump with a sunshine employee to keep him anchored. i completed this book in January and this was also my first spicy book, i loved it. The relationship that was established was hot.
oh charming!
I enjoyed reading this book, I loved the chemistry between ally and dom! Such a good read, I devoured it in a few hours!!

My taste is what I would describe as trash. I love almost all romcom tropes and I particularly love that it's predictable. So for me to say that this was trash, I mean it.
The FMC is the most nonsensical of all FMCs. I can accept the usual "not-like-other-girls" trope but make it make sense? She's apparently in need of money but goes on to insult MMC right away with no hesitation and with absolutely no fear about losing her job. Also going a step further by messing with his food? The MMC was also really unbearable. Not even unbearably hot. Just wanna-bash-his-head-into-a-wall type of unbearable. Maybe that's why they're meant for each other. Idk. And I really do not care to know anymore.
Overall, it was just really poorly written. I had to file under DNF.

Just finished this book and OMG—this book is the definition of slow-burn, banter-filled, enemies-to-lovers gold. Think The Devil Wears Prada but if the boss was a sexy grump with a tragic past and the assistant had no filter and sass for days. Dominic and Ally? CHEMISTRY. TENSION. SMIRKY GLARES. I wanted to shake them, scream at them, then wrap them in a blanket and force them to kiss already. The spice? Chef’s kiss. The angst? Immaculate. And the humor?? I actually snorted. I don't even know how many times. If you like your romance with steam, sass, and a side of trauma bonding in designer clothes—read this. You’ll fall hard, then blame me when you're up at 3am grinning like an idiot. No regrets (except that it was a bit too lengthy for me
medium-paced
Okay WOW!? I did not expect to love this as much as I did - I hadnt heard about much at all before reading and the cover didnt really seem intriguing to me but a friend recommended it and I’m so glad I give a try! It pulled me in so fast. Sometimes I feel like enemies to lovers in contemporary books are so weird bc it’s like at your grown age your acting like that but in this it actually made sense and they had a reason to be enemies which I loved. The two of them had great chemistry and a really great emotional connection too. It’s office romance, grumpy/sunshine, banter, slow burn, rich x poor, heartwarming AND HAS A CARETAKING SCENE
I feel like if you love the movie the devil wears Prada or the series the bold type you will love this
