This book was pleasant enough, but I thought the descriptions of their personality traits were a little heavy handed. It was clear that they were opposites, I didn’t need to be hit over the head with it. They had nice chemistry though and I thought the pacing of their animosity dissolving into genuine romantic feelings made sense. I would have appreciated something a little spicer as this was too mild for me, but that’s not an inherent flaw in the book, just a personal preference of mine.

May may look like a delicate English flower but she grew up on the sea with her sea captain father. After her mother passed he thought it would be best to return to England so that she could immerse herself in English culture. She may be enjoying her time in Bath but really May is just passing time waiting for her father to return for her so they can continue their adventures on the ocean. William, a wealthy eligible bachelor Duke, loves all things English especially all things proper. He may be attracted to May but she is far from proper and as much as he wants to hate her he just can't stay away. Neither believe there is any future possible for them but they just can't stay away. Can May give up her dreams of returning to life on a boat if she believes William is the one for her or can William open up to something a little different from the typical for his future Duchess? Really great continuation to the Prelude to a Kiss series, loving the secondary characters making appearances. Great read!

Dear reader,
This book will not disappoint. I have to tell you the more I read Erin Knightley's work, the more I love her. Each book she writes is pure gold. This recent addition to A Prelude to a Kiss series is great. The book is well written and keeps the reader interested the entire 300 some odd pages.

What makes this novel so good is May and Will hate each other at first. *SPOILER* William thinks May is attractive up until he hears the trio (Sophie, Chastity, and May) perform. Once Will hears the trio, as he terms it, butcher Mozart he is done. No he doesn't want to meet her! Of course as his friend Dering says he is a purist. What ensues after is May being herself and Will being dragged along for the ride, kicking and screaming the entire way.
Overall I give this book on the plot, dialogue, and characters a solid A++++++++
Each of Erin's books is amazing. I can't wait for Dering's book coming out in January 2016,

I really liked this! I definitely need to read more Erin Knightley since this is now the third book of hers I’ve read that I’ve really enjoyed. The way her romances develop just really work for me. I enjoyed their banter and the hate to love development of the romance.

Certainly a unique Regency, what with the Tai Chi, the zither, and everything. Has some great banter. And great chi.
