Welcome to The StoryGraph's 2025 Read the World challenge!
We're now into our fourth year of running this challenge, with 30 countries visited so far. For 2025, we've picked 10 new countries to broaden your literary horizons. Most of this year's countries will also provide you with an opportunity to read literature in translation - bonus! Eventually we hope that this challenge will encourage you to pick up a book from every country in the world. You can check out the countries we've already visited so far below:

You can choose to read fiction or nonfiction books for this challenge. The goal is to read a book set in the country, by an author from that country. You can definitely read from authors in that country's diaspora too, but please try to choose books which are physically set in that country (or at least partly!). The aim is to try to get outside of the US and UK. :-)
