The Fine Print by Lauren Asher

I liked that the theme of this book is pretty original in that there are a million brooding billionaire romance books out there but not many where they own a themepark very similar to Disneyland. I loved Zahara in this book, she is breath of fresh air and I can certainly imagine her working at the themepark. Rowan is nothing to write home about as a love interest but overall I had low expectations of this book and it was ok as a holiday read. I did like that there were minor characters in the background also getting their own love stories as well plus the world building. The MCs bonding over coming up with creative ideas for rides and zones at the themepark was fun as well. It’s a shame the second book doesn’t continue this theme. I would recommend this book as a holiday read.

Definitely a warm fuzzy holiday read and I would recommend the book based on that. I do however feel like the book would have been better to go in the direction that one of the contestants is violently ill and Connor has to replace them rather than the MCs dating before the show even starts. Kinda felt like the romance was a bit disjointed and the premise that a romance author could star as a bachelorette on a reality show was an afterthought. I liked the idea of the contestants being cast as romance types in books - would actually love to watch a reality show like this style in real life. Shout out for cute relationship building between stepdaughter and MC as well. Was written very well and tastefully. I liked the concert scene :)

Really enjoyed reading this book. I watched the movie afterwards and it is very true to the book too. Great introduction to LGBT romance - I love Alex

This book had very mixed reviews before I started it so I went in with low expectations - wow the bar should have been on the floor. Don’t bother with this book

I didn’t love this book when I originally read it but after finishing it I weirdly can’t stop thinking about it and want to go back and read again?

The originality and actual idea of this book as a whole is amazing. The writing itself just didn’t quite feel like the authors best work. There was so much world building and backstory to put in this book it took away from the actual story itself unfortunately. However I feel like this is forgivable as by end of the book I do genuinely love the characters. And I don’t say that about many books.

I feel like this would make a great tv series - the story itself has good bones, but I honestly couldn’t give too hoots about hunt. I love Bryce, Danika and Ruhn (who doesn’t).

The second book was much better as less world building and more juicy storyline. If you want my advice though, don’t read crescent city book 2 until you have finished ACOTAR series

I feel like the author did so much world building in first book but there was barely any scenes where the MCs are actually at dreamland? Kinda takes away from the theme of the trilogy. There are a billion romance books about brooding billionaires - if you are going to have a point of difference… then keep that up? And not like an after thought “oh I want a dreamland Tokyo let’s go there” when book is nearly finished?

Also felt like the MCs relationships had already started building in first book which lead me to feel by end of book 1 to be excited for this book, but picking up this book I feel like it was back to square one. Plus the author during first book leads reader to feel that the father was regretting his actions through his children’s childhood and wanting to turn his life around…this book throws all that under the bus unnecessarily. I’m ¾ through and I don’t like any of the characters anymore. Also the suggestion that Iris has work stockholder syndrome is too eerily accurate to make me actually feel like her relationship with Declan is healthy at all. Wouldn’t recommend this book tbh.
