“It's not just lies they're referring to. It's life. You can't run to another town, another place, another state. Whatever it is you're running from-it goes with you. It stays with you until you find out how to confront it.”

Advanced warning: This review will more than likely be filled with quotes :)

Oh my gosh! Words cannot describe how much I loved this book. Gah, it was amazing. So the book starts out when we meet our heroine, Layken. Her family, which consists of her mother and younger brother, move from Texas to Michigan to start anew when Layken's father passes away. When they are moving into their new home they meet Will *insert swoon* and his younger brother Caulder. Will and Layken begin to talk and get to know each other. She finds out his love for poetry and before she knows it, she's head over heels in love with him. But their relationship is anything but smooth sailing when "something" is revealed.

The characters in this book were AMAZING. I loved Layken and how strong she was as a character. She was humorous and was just a great heroine. Will, oh Will. Can I find a Will Cooper in real life? Anyway, he was such a swoon-worthy character. I LOVED HIM! He was nice, gentle, and handled things as well as he could with Layken. Did I mention he's a poet? He's also an amazing poet, just so you know. The swoon-worthy poet that melts your heart with his words. Yeah that's Will. Then we had the two boys; Caulder and Kel, who just pulled the story and our main characters together. The last character I want to mention is Layken's mom, Julia. She was inspiring and had the best advice anyone could give. She was an amazing influence on Layken, Will, and the boys. Here are some of my favorite quotes from her:

“Push your boundaries, that's what they're there for.”

“Don't take life too seriously. Punch it in the face when it needs a good hit. Laugh at it.”

“There are three questions every woman should be able to answer yes to before they commit to a man. If you answer no to any of the three questions, run like hell."
[...]
"Does he treat you with respect at all times? That's the first question. The second question is, if he is the exact same person twenty years from now that he is today, would you still want to marry him? And finally, does he inspire to be a better person? You find someone you can answer yes to all three, then you've found a good man.”

I also need to mention that poetry is a huge part of this book. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of poetry before I read this book. I actually never cared for poetry but I couldn't get enough of it in this book. My favorite poems being Mean and Schooled. Trust me, if you don't like poetry, you'll love it by the end of this book.

“I got schooled this year
by
a
boy.

A boy that I'm seriously, deeply, madly, incredibly, and undeniably in love with.
And he taught me the most important thing of all...

To put the emphasis
On life .”

I have to say that I didn't want to part with this book when I was finished. It was one of those books that just left an impact and I wanted more. Seriously though, if you haven't read Slammed, you need to now!

Absolutely loved this installment in the Trace + Olivia series. I adored Trent when he was first introduced in Finding Olivia. His and Rowan's story is a definite must read.

“The day Caleb touched my hand and I saw all those things, I was excited. Yes, a little freaked but excited more. I felt like...everything I ever needed was right there. I still feel like that. It's not something you can just turn off and I wouldn't want to. I want him more than I need him.”

^This is seriously how my face was during this entire book. This book was the perfect sequel to Accordance. It was a page turner and kept me hooked up until the end.

Accordance picks up right where Significance left off. Caleb and Maggie have gone to California to get away from the Watson clan. But their chaperones, Bish and Kyle, still aren't entirely happy to be there. But Bish and Kyle are the least of Maggie's problems. She learns about more of her powers and what she is to the entire Ace clan.
SpoilerThe Visionary
. She doesn't want to accept what she is but eventually has to face it for her family. And old enemies reappear while a new one is revealed. Hey, no one said being a supernatural creature was easy.

The characters are mostly the same from Significance. We see more of Bish, Jen, and Kyle as well. We are also introduced to a girl named Lynne. I don't want to really get into the new and secondary characters because it will spoil too much so you just have to read to see what happens to them. Maggie and Caleb, on the other hand are adorable. And Caleb is still as swoon-worthy as he was in Significance.

Yeah, it's good that some things never change. In fact I think he gets more swoon-worthy in this book.

“Caleb,” I called and looked at him. “I need you.” He looked surprised as he came forward. “What do you need?” “You.” “Does this require a human sacrifice?” he said joking. “No,” I laughed and heard Jen laugh too. “You remember I told you how I needed you at my side? I do, always. I can’t do any of this without you. Your touch is the trigger.” “It is?” he said in surprise. “You are just as important as I am. In the vision, I saw that you and I will be the key, not just me. Everything we’ll accomplish, we’ll do it together or not at all.”

The last thing I really loved with this book is how we see Caleb and Kyle's relationship begin to resurface. In Significance, they always said they were close and good friends, so it was good to see their relationship towards the end of the book.

“Alright, well, we're going to go tell Maggie's father."
Kyle came forward to inspect Caleb's face closely.
"Dude, what are you doing?"
"Just memorizing your pretty face before it gets all mangled."
Caleb laughed and shoved Kyle who laughed too. "Shut up, man.”

I do recommend this book for everyone who read Significance. It was excellent. What? You haven't even read Significance? What are you doing then? Why are you here? Go run to the bookstore or your e-reader and buy it. Yes, right now! Now read and enjoy.

Every story has two sides. Evie told hers, now it's Leo's turn.

Leo's POV for the win! God, this one was just as good as the first. It's pretty much the same story but from Leo's POV. We get flashbacks of him in California and an epilogue that you don't want to miss. All in all this was an amazing sequel to Leo! 5/5 stars.
