I read the authors note and I knew I was gonna really like this collection. There were some poems where I was bored and didn’t feel it, but most of the poems were beautiful; I felt every word. And don’t get me started on the simple, yet beautiful artwork.

Thank you to the publisher and the author for sending me an arc!
I want to start off by saying I can’t believe I have to wait 3 months until I can scream into the void about this book.
This book was an absolute rollercoaster, in the best way possible. There were so many emotional and tense moments, by the end of the book, my body was hit from being tense lol.
I loved Manny as a character because I could relate to him and I just wanted him to figure out everything and have a satisfying end to the mystery.
The only thing that has bothered me is the ending. I won’t go too into details but I was not expecting it, but in a bad way. It didn’t fit with the story and didn’t really makes sense. I felt like what happened wasn’t explained too much, but I could’ve been reading too fast.

I'm interested in the story but the plot has yet to kick off and reviews say that it'll be like that until half of the book (it's a 490-page book).
Between being bored and
Between being bored and
anticipating, the writing of Anoor is so juvenile and doesn't match the style of the rest of the book.
Also, the POV switches (if you can call them that) are so confusing like what is going on???
Lastly, Anoor has just recently been introduced but the amount of times her weight is talked about in a bad way rubs me the wrong way.

The switch between past and present got too confusing. The story isn’t going anywhere and I got to chapter 8. I have no connection to the characters and no interest in the plot or world.

I really liked “Madonna” and “The Spirit Flow of Aokigahara”, I am a sucker for commentary about religion and spirituality. I will say, Spirit Flow had some info dumping in the first part. I really loved the last panel of “Slumber”, very creepy.
