Did not finish book. Stopped at 27%.
I just can't with the Dutch translation. I hope there is either a different translation available or I will  pick it up in English and hope for the best.

If you are reading this after finishing book one and are doubting if you should continue: the story and its pace get better.

I gave book two a shot after being so-so about book one and was glad I continued with the story. Whereas I was not happy with the pace in book one, this book really saved it. From book two on I flew through the remaining two books and am now awaiting book five.

These are not the best, most complex books, but boy they sure are entertaining. Mostly in the way trashy reality tv is also entertaining.

I enjoyed the narrated audiobook by Elliot Page and it really brought a personal/intimate touch to the memoir, like I was told directly by the source. Though the jumping around in time was sometimes confusing as hell.

I do agree with most reviews saying that it was confusing at times and would’ve done better with some date/timestamps at the beginning of the chapter or a chronological order in the book. Especially with the audiobook.

I finished this in two days but boy was I bored and annoyed for most of it. I only kept reading to find out if something would actually happen in the next chapter. I also understand that Auren is suppose to be naïve and I don’t mind dislikable characters, but some lines just made me cringe and feel like I’m reading a book for teenagers. There is nothing wrong with that, but I think this is suppose to be an adult fantasy?

First half of the book was so slow and could’ve been more compact. The ‘action’ only happened in the last 15-20% and might have saved the book a little. This book felt like a pilot of a tv show where nothing really happens and it’s all just feels like background work. On the opposite side, the ending felt hurried and as said might have saved the book a little.

I’ve read a few reviews for the next book and it is suppose to be at least a little better. Will try just to find out, but might skip the rest of the series if it’s the same set up as book one.
The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up: A Magical Story by Marie Kondo

Cute little manga that visualises the Marie Kondo-way. I like the way it seems impossible from the beginning but becomes do-able by taking one step at a time.
