Tame the Heart by Ava Hunter

Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.
This was gearing up to be a 3, and I was going to finish it, but then I had to many other things I needed to read for various reasons, and now just the thought of going back to it physically pains me, so I’m going to call it a day. I do like the writing, so I’ll continue with the series, but these two characters, and the plot are just not for me

Chelsea’s books always make me smile throughout, and this one was no different. Hudson is so sweet, and I loved his relationship with Madeline and her daughter Lucy. It was a beautiful slow burn that absolutely did not feel like over 500 pages.

I loved this so much. My favorite Tessa Bailey yet! Sig is perfection, and Chloe could have so easily been unlikable, but she wasn’t, she showed true growth, and I loved her. Their parents can all go choke, but it made for good drama!

I did not like this at all, and am a little confused about all the raving reviews. The ending made no sense, nor did the first chapter. The names were so so stupid I couldn’t get over them, and I was rolling my eyes every time Acker used the fmc’s full name because it was so bad to me. I don’t like 1st person single pov in a fantasy, and I understand that’s a me problem, however it just absolutely does not work here, especially with the “twist.” The fmc was unlikable, the mmc was a caricature of all the dark broody mmc’s that have come before him, and the entire book really needed another read through by a strong editor with a red pen and endless ink in it.

I didn’t read the original On Dublin Street series, I’m newer to Samantha Young, and while I’ve read one or 2 of her regular romances, I’m a fan by way of her romantic suspense series. I will of course have to change that, but I don’t think you need to have read that series in order to start her second generation series. While there’s a lot of lore, and a lot of names, I never felt lost, or like any of that overpowered Beth and Callan’s love story.
This was second chance, which is never my favorite, but I don’t mind it here, the reasons they broke up the first time made sense, as did their forgiveness as adults. Samantha is good at that, and if she keeps writing second chance, and I keep reading, and liking it, I may have to stop saying I don’t do second chance, the horror!
Callan was broody and moody, and perfect, and I loved how jealous he was, but also that he mostly controlled himself. Beth is awesome, and I loved her. I also really loved the anxiety rep here, it was really well done, and I appreciated the conversation Beth and Callan had after she admitted to him she was on meds for it, and he said another player was on them as well, and that doesn’t make him less than, so why would she think she was? Sometimes we need a little help, and I love seeing that represented in books.
Overall I really loved this one, and also realized just how much of Samantha’s backlist I have to get through 😅

I needed something light and my Friends came through with the Rec’s. This was perfect fluff, with a side of stick it to the man! Gavin was perfect, and I love a good he falls first. I also loved Olivia, and seeing her grow into herself. This was lovely, and I’m glad I read it.
