Good god. Could I get at least 25 more sex scenes of this couple?? This was pure fire 🔥 and my only complaint is that it’s a novella, my goodness gracious

A demon ironically named Faith is on her last chance to meet her quota of souls to damn or she’s being sent to the Pits of Hell. In comes Byron, he’s a womanizer and generally just a jerk.

I didn’t know cozy smut was a thing but apparently it is. This was super cute, fun and extremely smutty. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Faith and Byron. Faith is a Dom and Byron is a switch, even though all his past experiences he’s the top.

There’s lots of food play, I think mostly because when Faith goes topside to Earth she opens up a candy shop hoping to lure in dark souls.

It’s a short book so it’s very insta lust/insta love but I didn’t mind. The story worked for a novella and the smutty scenes were hot. There’s also something so funny and enjoyable about seeing monsters in office/work type settings. Definitely a good palette cleanser book.

Isle of Beauty by C.J Lucci

Maybe I’m a tad biased because I think C.J. Lucci is one of the nicest people on booktok. When she reached out to me and asked if I was interested in reading an ARC of her debut book, the only thing I could say was yes. I’ve been following her progress through her videos and her book/videos promoting the book made me even more excited.

It’s a story with the baddest of baddies as a future mob boss and a man who has been trying to keep the mob life out of his life.  These two meet by coincidence ,have some endless passion then she disappears….until 3 years later.

We’ve got arranged marriage, man obsessed, literally feral woman, age gap, and enemies to lovers. This book has a “WHERE’S MY WIFE SCENE?!” and I nearly died. It’s fast paced, dark but not too dark, steam galore, and dual pov.

READ IT.

As many of you know I absolutely adored the first book in this series, A Polar Expedition: and Other Stimulating Research Opportunities. Whew, I love a long winded title for book, they make me giggle. When I found out Kass was looking for permanent peeps for her arc team I applied so fast and thank you SO much Kass for letting be apart of your team. Also, thank you so much for your understanding and patience. It took me a bit to read this book because my kids occupy so much of my time.

With that being said I read 50% of this book in one night because I decided to stay up late and now I’m done and queue me kicking my legs and smiling. This series is a gaslamp monster romance story about Cat (the MMC from the first books sister) and Torsten. He’s the brother’s best friend, and sort of the one who got away. She fell in love with him at a young age and feelings weren’t necessarily reciprocated, I suppose this romance is also a second chance romance in a way.

One of my favorite things about the first book, and this book is the world building, and the footnotes. I just really love the added world building/background that is provided to the reader about a scene or maybe a situation or maybe a certain word or Country even, etc. Even though the story is first and foremost a romance, I really appreciate the time the author takes to build a rich environment to fall in love with.

Cat is a single mom to twins and is such an incredible woman. She’s strong, resourceful, and loves with her whole chest but because of her past with her twins father and some issues with her parents, she doesn’t seem to see the value in herself. So there’s a lot of growth you see with her throughout the book. Torsten is loyal through and through and absolutely adores Cat. The minute he sees her again, he knows he has to have her and will do anything to keep her. The story had the perfect amount of angst without driving you insane. Then the spice comes into the picture and it’s steaming hot.

I don’t really want to spoil any of the story for any of you who may be interested in reading this book which why wouldn’t you be? But I will leave you with some of my favorite tropes that are in this book.

-Only one Cave
-Only one Horse
-Brothers best friend
-Childhood crush
-Forced Proximity
-Single Parent
-Friends to Lovers
-Top tier dirty talk
-Hare Shifter
-Orcs, knots and copious amounts of fluids.
-Sex Positive
-Trans rep

PS: I can’t wait for Aegir’s story.

Where’s Pam from Office holding up the HOT sign when you need her?

Good god all mighty. I don’t give an absolute titty what it says about me but this alien/human horizontal tango was hot as hell.

On top of that I enjoyed the characters, the world/universe this author built.

Strange Love by Ann Aguirre

How do I even begin?
Let start off by saying that if you like an Alien that actually looks Alien this book is for you. If you like your Alien to actually have Alien equipment then this book is for you.

Our MMC Zylar, is such a cinnamon roll of epic proportions. He’s spent his life looking for what his race calls a nest guardian. He’s never really been wanted, never picked and look downed upon. He happens upon our FMC Beryl, by accident and there’s no real way for her to go back home. It becomes a marriage of convenience of a sort but the only way they can succeed is to go through trials. The trials not only prove that Beryl can be a worthy nest guardian but the couple together can succeed.

Both characters are incredibly lovable, and it was so endearing to watch them grow into a couple that loves one another. They are physically, and socially so different from the other so I enjoyed watching them learn what’s “normal” for each other. I just loved it so so so much and I don’t think there’s another beta quite like a Zylar. If he had cheeks I’d squeeze em.

PS:  There’s a talking dog named Snaps and he is the BEST boy.
