Different tone than the first Earthsea but not in a bad way. I think this one felt more personal to Le Guin and had a bit more of a clear message.

So much better than the movie. I think this is one of the best fictional looks at the American mindset I’ve read.

The ending at first let me down a bit. But after lingering on it, it really hit me. Good book.

Wide wide range of poems. Some of my all time favorites (The Orange) and some that I don’t care for too much.

This collection spans the range of human emotion. It felt like whiplash to me switching between feelings, but some may like that.

It did inspire me to write some of my own poems so that’s fun.

One of the best children’s stories of all time.

No idea how I read this whole book in French in highschool without google translate…

Time for my regularly scheduled praise of Becky Chambers. I’m convinced she is the best sci fi author currently writing and this book was more evidence of that.

Science fiction is said to be a reflection of society, and this book is definitely that. I don’t care if the metaphors are extremely heavy handed, it’s so well done. I get to go through a huge range of emotions, meet fun aliens, cry a little, and then feel like I can reflect on the issues presented in a real life lens.

It is bittersweet that this is the last of the wayfarers series. It’s meant a lot to me. But I’m excited to see what comes next.

Great book. Starts off like almost any other pop economics book, albeit with a more interesting premise. But as it continues it gets more and more in depth with theory, policy proposals, and actions. It ends up being very radicalizing and complete.

Mad Max with trains mixed with Moby Dick but for young adults. This is a very complementary review.

Way more singing than I remembered. Why wasn’t all that in the movies?
