It was an enjoyable enough read and I definitely found myself invested in the outcome of this book. I feel like I understood each character's personal decisions regarding the relationships by the end of the book, and I feel like it turned out for the best.

However, my biggest pet peeve with this book is just how bitter Felix is. I understand to an extent how much he was dealing with and how that impacted the way he felt, the things he said and the things he did. Yet, I also felt like he was unnecessarily spiteful for a solid 60% and it was either excused by other people, swept under the rug or just entirely forgotten about and left unaddressed. Not everyone will have a problem with this, but it did get under my skin a fair bit.

The first book had me completely unable to predict the ending, which was mesmerising enough.

This book, however, had me confidently working through the clues and yet everytime I felt I had gotten close, something throws me off entirely, and I feel like I'm back to square one. Everything coming together in the end felt incredibly satisfying, and the feeling of working the case alongside the team is addictive, in the simplest of terms.

Also, it's still incredibly Criminal Minds coded, maybe even more so in this book than in the first one, and I'm very fond of that!

This really is just a YA book of Criminal Minds, if the Criminal Minds team were all teenagers. Add a healthy dose of plot twists and a love triangle, and there's not question why I was sold on this book.

If someone spoke to me with any of the pretty words Kai spoke to Paedyn, I would fold for then unbelievably fast. The tension between those two had my holding my breath, silently screaming.
