The Betrothed by Kiera Cass

I could not put this book down. Even in hectic finals times I read it from start to end the day it arrived at my house. The main character was flawed and questioned her decisions a lot which made her likable in my book. The ending felt a little rushed in that a lot of the plot happened in the last few chapters. The one thing I think I was missing was a real connection, care for a lot of the characters. The events in the book are sad but I did not find myself mourning them like I have many other characters. I am hoping that in the next book in this collection I will find that connection I am used to having.

This book was absolutely adorable. I read it from start to end and could not put it down. It was an easy read that I was able to get lost in and forget my worries. It has twists and turns and is overall a good light hearted book.
American Zoo: A Sociological Safari by David Grazian
I read this book for my college writing class that was centered around zoos. This book was very interesting and debates a lot of topics within zoos. It calls to attention thinks like labor and care of the animals as well as things that us zoo goers are doing wrong when attending the zoo. Grazian gets specific and tells personal stories to convey his feelings in a meaningful way.

This book is amazing. I have read it again and again and I continue to fall in love with the characters again and again as well as continue to feel their pain. I find it easy to visualize Cass's writing but not get bored with obsessive amounts of description.
What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum

This book had a kind of slow start. It took me about half the book to become invested and to question what was going to happen next, but once I started questioning it I couldn’t stop. This book was sweet and a nice read if you’re looking for something cute.
