A really sweet read that follows the life of a stray puppy from birth to old age. All told through the POV of the dog. This books show both the cruelness and kindness that people are capable of.
I throughly enjoyed getting lost in this book. I love the characters and the dynamics between them. I definitely preferred this one to the previous one in this duology, it’s fast paced with lots of twists and turns. I also felt like I got more insight it to the inner workings of the character and really loved seeing them grow and learning to except who they are. I know a lot of people have issue with the ages of the characters in this series, but if you can get past that, they are wonderful books to get lost in.
A good solid ya fantasy. Six of Crows follows the Kaz Brekker and his gang of misfits as they try to pull off their biggest heist and earn/buy their freedom. All the characters are flawed, in the best way, and Leigh does a fantastic job of teasing us with tid-bits of information before giving the full backstory's. I also loved that each chapter is told by a different character so you really get a full understanding of them all as individual and as a part of the group. As with her previous books I found it started a bit slow, but it picks up alot around half way through. There is alot of getting to know the character and the grand scheme before the action really starts.
It is a great book/story for adults and kids alike to give a better understanding of life with a disability.
Cece lost her hearing at a very young age and this story follows her journey through school and friendship as she has to get used to her new world with hearing aids.
An informative, lighthearted, funny and inspiring read, that I think everyone, especially those of us with full use of ears weather adult or child, should read.
I think this was my favourite book of this series. I have to admit I wasn't too keen on many of the character until this book but the were, mostly, redeemed. My favourite character was Nikolai and am looking forward to the books about him. I also thought the writing improved alot in this. Reading it I felt the the author had finally found her feet (if that even makes sense). Overall, the series is an easy enough read once you get used to the World of the Grishaverse. It's not a series I would read again as I wasn't gone o the first 2 books but it is worth a try if you want an easier read .
A short story that is a nice little insight into the Darklings past and an event that shaped who he would become. I'd recommend this for any fans of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy.
