Liz and Mason have a lot of regrets. Liz is angry with Mason, ashamed of the choices she's made, and ready to run away, again. After turning from his bad boy ways, Mason is raising his 5 year old twins alone and trying to make the best life he can for them.
I love the Farm Fresh Romance series but don't worry if you haven't read them all, each book is an entertaining stand-alone! The characters are genuine and the message is full of hope, forgiveness, and meaningful community. I appreciated Valerie's attention to the issues of homelessness, adoption, and salvation. Berry on Top was entertaining and inspiring!

The Silver Suitcase is a beautiful story about the lives of a grandmother and granddaughter. Cornelia's girlhood, first love, tragedy, early teaching career, and marriage experiences take place in the 1930s and 40s. Her contemporary granddaughter, Benita, copes with her own marriage and financial struggles and begins reading the volumes of Cornelia's journals after her grandmother's death.
Terri Todd has expertly woven five generations of this family into one book from a 2nd and 4th generation point of view. The Silver Suitcase is hard to put down and full of heartache, faith, and triumph. The story appeals to both contemporary and historical fiction fans.
I had the opportunity to read and review this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

http://www.faithfullybookish.com/review/on-lone-star-trail-by-amanda-cabot/
I was attracted to this book because I've enjoyed Amanda Cabot's historicals and I love this cover! On Lone Star Trail is an encouraging, city girl meets country boy contemporary. Gillian is trying to find new purpose after a career ending injury. TJ has been traveling the country on his motorcycle since losing his wife and sense of identity.
I liked the way the two main characters' paths cross when both are adamant about not wanting to marry and the natural development of their relationship. Both characters are ready to step out of grief and into the unknown. I had a hard time putting this one down! This is the third book of the Texas Crossroads series but was very enjoyable as a stand-alone as well. The small town setting in the Texas Hill Country is delightful and I'm looking forward to reading the previous two titles in the series.
I requested this book through NetGalley in order to read and offer an honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.

Carin is a young teacher trying to move forward after the deaths of her mother and her younger brother. She's making a fresh start in a new town and all is going well with the exception of one unruly student. After losing his parents in an accident less than a year ago, Jake is spread thin pastoring his church and raising his kid brother, Corey. Carin goes the extra mile to help Corey change his behavior and turn his grade around.
The Wisdom Tree is a sweet romance with some mystery and suspense sprinkled in and a healthy dose of faith. I was happy to see a nice variety of ages among the characters, the inclusion of kids and seniors really made the story come to life. Carin struggled with her relationship with God and with an overbearing ex-boyfriend. Jake wanted to protect both Corey and Carin. I enjoyed the book and appreciated the elements of grief, freedom, forgiveness, faith, and family.

Rori Harmon hides away from the outside world after the media fallout following her celebrity father's death. She has centered her life around her animal sanctuary, avoiding everyone except her best friend, brothers, mother, and step-father. Graham Decker is a successful racecar driver and philanthropist but unlucky in love. His ex-wife married him for his fame and fortunes then left him for a rival driver. Rori and Graham's paths cross when he drops by to check out the sanctuary for a foundation grant and she mistakes him for an on call vet. Graham starts volunteering at the sanctuary in order to spend more time with Rori.
Both main characters were well developed and their inner dialogs and interactions with one another were relatable and endearing. All the animals throughout the story added a measure of comfort and humor. I had no idea llama's hissed. I love how protective and thoughtful Graham is and my favorite Rori characteristic is her honesty. Overall the story was sweet, funny, and encouraging. I recommend it!

I love Jody Hedlund's historical fiction and I am very pleased with this YA series as well! First of all the cover is absolutely beautiful and makes me want to go visit an old castle and wear long medieval gowns. The font change with the point of view shift cleverly kept the identity of the hero hidden at first. I'm glad I borrowed a paperback from the library because (as I found out with the second in the series) it's more subtle on the Kindle version. Rosemarie is a delightfully innocent heroine. The knight in shining armor is truly valiant and chivalrous. Great series!

Reading A Robertson Family Christmas was even more entertaining than sitting down to watch an episode of Duck Dynasty. Hunter, a sullen teenager from the suburbs of Chicago, wins the opportunity to spend Christmas week with the extended Robertson family. His mom entered him in the contest and both parents encourage him to go, hoping he will benefit in some way. Korie Robertson wants to make sure Hunter gets to experience a full-fledge Robertson family Christmas but he shuts them out at every turn. The Robertsons don't give up on disinterested Hunter, they keep showing him love and sharing their faith. This story made me laugh and made me cry, it is full of good cooking, family, fun times, and faith.

Oh boy! I really enjoyed my little trip to 1960s small town Texas. Swimming in the creek, town-wide dances, local diner, seeing everyone in church on Sunday, those good old days are so appealing! Sam Lewis and Sarah Jordan are my kind of people, they are compassionate, loyal, and self-sacrificing but they also know how to kick back and have some good, clean fun! JoAnn Durgin, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “I like your style!” I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the Lewis Legacy series.

Rebekah's Treasure is full of rich description and intense struggle. Rebekah and her husband Ethan were children during Christ's ministry. Now it's 70 A.D., their own children are grown, and Jerusalem is under attack.
Ethan insists his wife and daughter flee the city while he and his sons stay to defend the city and temple. Rebekah only wants her family to stay together but she reluctantly submits to Ethan's wishes and seeks refuge in Pella among other followers of the Way.
The men of the family vow to defend the temple until there is no hope then they are ordered to escape through a secret tunnel to find and distribute hidden temple treasures to the remaining resistance fighters. Combat scenes are vivid and full of emotional turmoil.
Each member of the family has to fight to survive and find their true treasure. This book is what I would call deep and heavy, I often stepped away from the story to digest and contemplate. Rebekah's Treasure had a profound impact on me and I encourage anyone who has an interest in this time period and the early church to pick it up.

Miranda has noticed her grandfather's growing confusion but it's never caused any trouble for the family's upscale auction house, until now. Mr. Wimplegate is determined to save his auction house and drags his granddaughter all the way to the Ozarks to retrieve the painting which he inadvertently sold. Wyatt isn't happy when he learns the livestock auction barn he manages has been sold to a Boston family used to dealing with antiques, jewels, and paintings. No one knows who to trust and the stress makes the elderly Mr. Wimplegate's condition worse than ever!
Wyatt and Miranda's internal dialog was very entertaining and there are several colorful secondary characters as well. Nice light hearted mystery with a healthy dose of romance.
