it was so good. read this. literally so much fun. i love when the world is this developed i feel like no one has this dedication to the world unless it’s like sjm. such an interesting story even if it’s a bit predictable in the beginning. girlypop gets a little annoying at times but we get over it because girly is so strong

really liked this book. it was sold as “inspired by the songs of Taylor Swift” but, as a major swiftie, i literally couldn’t connect any of the plot to a taylor song. BUT i still really loved this one i thought it was super cute and just a fun read. a tad unrealistic but ugh who cares whatever it was fun and you will enjoy it

i really actually liked this one. this is a book i couldn’t put down and i haven’t had that in a while so that was a nice surprise. characters are very basic and predictable, yet the boys are still loveable. the heroine is honestly dull. i didn’t realize it as i was reading but girly is supposed to have this incredible brain and can solve any puzzle or whatever, YET she isn’t like witty or even that sarcastic. her background is built to house this witty, sarcastic, take-no-shit girl, but she is literally boring. like you all of a sudden go from NOTHING to EVERYTHING and all you can worry about is your older sister/guardian and cute boys?? BRUH. but otherwise i really liked the twists and turns it’s an entertaining read i just wish the heroine provided more to the dialogue. you can tell the author wanted some badass mf as the heroine (again, re: her backstory), but she did not deliver. hope in the next book she actually finds her voice.

Loved this retelling! It’s always so fun to read a modern interpretation of a silenced female voice, such as Daphne’s, from the time. She is one tough mf

idk why but i just cannot read another pathetic character right now. sally’s writing is good but i just hate her characters with a passion. they are shitty human beings which i know is the point but damn bruh i could not help but fall into the depression the characters were experiencing (which is an impressive feat by miss rooney). just really a toughie to crank out and i honestly don’t know what the lesson here is. also ends on a cliff hanger so that sucked
