Loki: Le dieu tombé sur Terre by Daniel Kibblesmith, Jan Bazaldua

I wish we could see this aspect of Loki's psychology in the MCU Loki series (let's pray for a season 2 that slaps), but oh well, at least we have this. The dialogues were fun, the plot was great (for the length, which is... very short) and the art was surprisingly good. I'm looking forward to discover more of my fav characters in the comics when I have the time (and the money lol)

Okay it was very fast-paced (I've read it in one evening) but gosh, it was TOO short! the idea was really good and the characters had potential, but the development of the plot made no sense. The whole Dracula stuff didn't feel like it was part of the story, just a random thing that popped up out of nowhere for like 20 pages, and bam, the end. No, just no. It could have been introduced way better if the story took its time to develop. Honestly, 100 pages more wouldn't have been a lot to ask, at least for a smoother transition to get to the final "plot twist."

The love story, unfortunately, wasn't relevant enough. It's a shame because Mira and Lil were really cute and had so much potential, but again, their ending was for me the consequence of lazy writing.

Anyway I'm so disappointed by all of this wasted potential, and perahps I'm being mean about it, but I'm pissed off so I don't really care. Also, major trigger warnings, there's a lot of stuff that made me ask myself why it was even in YA section.

Shadow and Bone walked so Six of Crows could RUN.
No but seriously, this book is amazing. Even after a re-read, I keep it on my top 3. I think I never enjoyed a book as I did reading this duology. I love the crows more than I love myself ???
Anyway, drop the season 2 Netflix, the world needs to see Wylan Van Sunshine on screen.

Dorian is such a spoiled brat.
Harry is the devil himself.
And Basil... clearly didn't ask to be there.

A great and fast reread, I just love this dramatically gay and murderous book, I was surprised but how easy it was to read in English, compared to the french translation

Gosh it's been a while since I enjoyed reading a book without frowning in confusion every two seconds or having to be hyper focused because of a complex plot. This was seriously a a breath of fresh air. Fast-paced, well written, feel-good and faes (who doesn't love faes??), this was a shot of energy. I was laughing and giggling like the stupidest person alive during the first half of the book, and I'm not even joking. However, the second half was maybe a bit less entertaining, but in the whole, it was very fun.
I think this book might be what people thought The Cruel Prince was according to booktok (basically a romance between a fae prince and a human girl, kinda enemies to lovers, and not a lot of actual worldbuilding), but compressed in less than 400 pages of stupid jokes and very, very young-adultish.
I loved it :D
