I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
Not all of the stories i liked a lot but the really good ones made this worthwhile, and honestly i like this book more than i like dune, just make sure you have the next book if you want an ending ( i expected this book to be like dune, where the rest of the books didn't have to be read after the first and the first could be a stand alone)
The preist, Kassad , silenus and Sol were the most compelling. Ran immediately to barns and Nobel when i finished this. The shrike is masterfully written, most of the terror comes from your own imagination
Bad parts, some parts kind of leave you in the dark and for a while you are really confused. And i HATE the cliffhanger, worst part is that the ending takes forever in the next book, so its not really satisfying when you pick up the next book (fall of Hyperion and don't get the ending, the next book is from John Keats point of view, and then the pilgrims and Keats can be really tedious when you just want to get to the pilgrims.

Man these are some good books, i've been very lucky to read so many good books lately, like some little book goblin has blessed me, i read this book SO fast i just could not put it down, i think the shorter chapters aided in that. I've also been watching the show side by side with the book, i like how the show sometimes adds scenes that weren't in the book but fit really well (not the healer lady though just... no) Spoilers only retain to this book and no futher
  •
I loved Theon, like if he were real i wouldnt like him, but he is just SUCH a complex character, really look forward to how much he is gonna mess himself up
  • I liked Arya, but i really liked the change of tywin in the show, it dosent make a lot of sense (like a duded of such high status shouldn't have a serving girl that was JUST brought in a def would not like you but i digress), Jaquen was also fun and added some light to how dreary the arya chapters could be.
  • Bran is just meh rn, i enjoy his dynamic w/ Osha and Hordor but his chapters wouldn't exactly put you at the edge of your seat.
  •   AND THE SEIGE HOLLY CRAP THE SEIGE easily my favorite part of the book next to when dany went to the house of the undying, i love seing house lannister not so perfect, the show did AMAZING showing the terror, and my boy sandor :(
  •
Quhorin (or however its spelled, halfhand dude), was also so pleasantly complex, i wish the show did him a little more justice, but he felt just a tiny bit convenient for Jon,
  • And i LOVE brieane ( as you may be able to see i cannot spell any of these names) i know shes not there much, but she is one of the few characters in a book i can really relate to.

AUGHUH I LOVE VAMPIRES SO MUCH FIRST DND, REAPER MAN, AND NOW THIS!?!
This is a book with VERY complex characters, so much so that I am very exited to read this book once again when I am older (and wiser) the plot is pretty simple, but it shines with how well written these characters are. The exploration of immortality and how a vampire would struggle with it was very intersting, I also could not put this down and read it I two days. It’s also interning reading this book and know what Anne was going through writing this makes it feel even more human.Very angsty and philosophical, but would pay money to have middle school me read these books, the writing style is also just so good, straightforward yet still beautiful.

For some reason (having not watched the show) I thought this was going to be a really shallow book but I have been pleasantly surprised! I start asoiaf to fill the gap that the first law trilogy left in my heart and this itched the spot (however this was not as heavy on character rather than plot as I would have liked)
  • I enjoy how detailed this world is
  • I have a feeling Sansa has ALOT ahead of her I could her annoying at first and now I just want to give her a hug
  • My favorite sections of the book have to be the chapters leading up to Neds death, I wish we could have had it from his pov though rather than Arya who looked away (completely understandable) I feel like something is bad is going to happen to Rob though, I thought the battle part with rob and his army was kind of boring, I’ve been spoiled with Joe Abercrombie’s battle sequences

Meh wish there was a bit more done with this booK some parts were really good
Like kvoth breaking down with auto, almost any part with Elodin, the battle with sedan and co, I personally liked the Maer stuff before kvoth came back , and kvoths mental path after killing the fake edema ruh was also well written and my personal favorite part of the book
but some parts were just dull or rushed, I felt the framing device was used as an excuse to not write certain things (sometimes this worked well and sometimes it was aggravating. The whole Felurian sequence could have been shortened down.

Easily the best out of the whole trilogy, so many freaking twists mny times I put the book down and just stared at it. So good holy crap
  • i Love how all the main characters have already had their lifetime adventures (well excluding jezal)
  • west was my favorite out of the trilogy, I’m glad he had a sort of resolved death, he was such a good complex character
  • Logan oh my gosh, was so good too I just wanted him to be happy so bad it broke me when ferro almost didn’t care about him
  • Ferro was also so great every character was great
  • Overall give the whole trilogy a solid 4.5
Edit, I cannot stop thinking about this book, I keep on thinking about little things in these books and the brilliance keeps slowly being revealed to me, Logan Is such a tragic character and the subversion of a certain character was very well done these books have left a gap in my heart , and is one of those moments were I am so glad that I read
