I really enjoyed this book and found it enduring. I am a beginner quilter as well and always seem to find myself in circles with ladies more experienced and wiser. I was able to relate to Sarah, as well as Mrs. Compson and their stories. I'm glad that this is a series so that I can get to know the characters more because I didn't want the story to end.

I just finished the book last night and am still on the fence on whether I liked it or not. I think that's because it is a YA book and written from a young adult perspective. There was good character development and there was depth. If I put myself back in high school and college I could totally relate to Connell, as well as Marianne. I was a big fan of Connell's mom, Lorraine. I wish there would have been more dialog, or even just more information, about Marianne's family. There was enough for me to despise them and the way they treated Marianne but I still would have liked more from them. I certainly hope there is a sequel...

I really loved this book. Mim is a wonderful character that I can relate to on so many levels, even though I'm in my 50's. The writing is light, deep, profound, funny, sad, etc... it's ALL the feels.

I was really excited to read this book after reading the synopsis but that all changed after I started it. I kept hoping that it was going to get better but it really didn't. I wish that I had stopped when I wanted to and saved that time to read something else.

I'm not usually a historical fiction reader but this intrigued me because I love art. I was pleasantly surprised by the story and am so glad that I read it.
