Con una pluma soberbia F.Scott Fitzgerald nos presenta personajes atrapantes y una historia emocionante.Esta historia refleja los años veinte y es una crítica al famoso sueño americano porque quiere demostrar que todo tiene consecuencias. El protagonista de este libro es Gatsby y a pesar de que lo tiene todo,no es inmune a las cadenas del corazón ya que toda su vida gira en torno a Daisy que es su gran obsesión. El narrador de esta historia es Nick y al igual que su amigo Gatsby, se verá envuelto en una trama que tiene como protagonista al amor y los peligros que sugieren tener un corazón.”La miraba mientras Daisy me hablaba, y lo hacía de esa manera con que todas las chicas quieren que se las mire en un momento determinado”

Pero todo lo que conoce esta en peligro ya que ella y su familia son ciudadanos ilegales procedentes de Jamaica. Sin embargo sus pesadillas un día se vuelven realidad y una deportación podría modificar su futuro para siempre, solo contara con 24 horas para poder evitarlo y borrar de su corazón todo lo que alguna vez dio por sentado. Daniel es nuestro otro protagonista y a diferencia de Natasha cree mucho en el amor, su familia es muy tradicional y lo presionan para cumplir con las costumbres coreanas. Pero el busca la libertad... y solo la puede encontrar en la poesía y en el poder de las palabras.
Luchando por aquello que más desean, el destino los cruzara en un mismo camino en donde todo podría cambiar.
Es un libro formado por relatos que en su conjunto crean algo extraordinario y muy especial, lidia con temas importantes como el racismo y el suicidio, pero también le da mucha importancia a los sueños y al destino. "Ante nosotros se abre un futuro con millones de posibilidades ¿cuál de ellas crees que se hará realidad?"

En mi búsqueda por encontrar un romance apasionado encontré el título de esta hermosa historia que me llamo la atención desde un principio…
En el siglo XIX hay dos hermanos que siempre se salen con la suya, los Ravenel. No solo que son muy apuestos también son millonarios, pero cuando un primo de ellos muere las circunstancias los llevaran a heredar una mansión casi destruida en la cual viven sus primas, unas jovencitas muy alegres que nunca salieron al mundo exterior y a una enigmática viuda llamada Kathleen que lograra que pierdan la cabeza y recuperen el corazón…en especial el de Devon que es todo un jugador.
No voy a mentirles, es una historia un poco cliché, pero la disfrute. En ciertos puntos parece predecible pero no dejen que las apariencias los engañen ya que tiene muchos giros fascinantes y personajes fantásticos que son realmente muy entretenidos. Es fácil de leer y es ideal para cuando se busca un libro tranquilo para poder perderse un ratito entre sus páginas.

In my quest to find a passionate romance I found the title of this beautiful story that caught my attention from the beginning ...
In the 19th century, there are two brothers who always get their way, the Ravenel. They are handsome and they are also millionaires, but when a cousin of them dies, circumstances will lead them to inherit an almost destroyed mansion in which their cousins,happy young women who never went out into the outside world, live with an enigmatic widow named Kathleen who manages to gets into the brothers' heads and also into their hearts ... especially in Devon's who is quite a gamer.
I'm not going to lie to you, it's a bit of a cliche story, but I enjoyed it. At certain points it seems predictable but don't let appearances fool you as it has so many fascinating twists and fantastic characters that are really quite entertaining. It is easy to read and is ideal for when you are looking for a quiet book to be able to lose a little time between its pages.

Este libro me pareció simplemente increíble. No podía soltarlo. Toma elementos de obras que ya conocemos, pero al mismo tiempo logra ser super innovadora creando algo único.
Mare Barrow vive en un mundo en donde la sangre tiene un papel muy importante. Aquellos que tienen sangre color roja viven en la pobreza y son explotada por la elite de sangre plateada que además de poseer mucho dinero tienen poderes extraordinarios. Pero las circunstancias de la vida y también un muchacho le darán la oportunidad a Mare de terminar trabajando en el palacio plateado, pero su vida correrá peligro cuando descubran que es una sangre roja con habilidades únicas que podría cambiarlo todo.
Romance, aventura y misterio son los ejes de esta historia que transportaran al lector a un mundo de ensueño, pero también de muchos tormentos.

This book seemed simply incredible to me. I couldn't let go. It takes elements from works that we already know, but at the same time it manages to be super innovative creating something unique.
Mare Barrow lives in a world where blood plays a very important role. Those with red blood live in poverty and are exploited by the silver blood elite who, in addition to possessing a lot of money, have extraordinary powers. But the circumstances of life and also a man, will give Mare the opportunity to end up working in the silver palace, but her life will be in danger when they discover that she is a red blood with unique abilities that could change everything.
Romance, adventure and mystery are the axes of this story that will transport the reader to a dream world, but also a world of many torments.

La autora nos presenta un libro de cuentos con ideas muy entretenidas y bastante retorcidas. Cada una de las historias están formadas por acontecimientos que construyen estas fantásticas tramas que tienen elementos que me parecieron muy refrescantes por el hecho de que son diferentes. Estos elementos como piezas de un rompecabezas se van enganchando, relacionándose entre ellos, otorgándole un sentido que se produce durante la lectura, no antes. Historias de reyes que tienen muchas esposas que esperan su muerte, una señorita que tiene cabezas y bocas de repuestos, secretos ocultos en las montañas, anímales que hablan, historias de amor siniestras y situaciones de las mas extrañas.
Sara Gallardo en El país del humo inventa personajes que son los que narran aquello que ella construyo y eso es lo que lee el lector. Contemporánea a Gabriel García Márquez, y siguiendo la tradición del realismo mágico latinoamericano, esta escritora es capaz de contarnos historias desde perspectivas inusuales que nos hacen ver el mundo de nuevas formas.

Stories of kings who have many wives waiting for his death, a young lady who has spare heads and mouths, secrets hidden in the mountains, animals that speak, sinister love stories and strange situations.
Sara Gallardo in The Land of Smoke imagines characters who narrate what she built and that is what the reader reads. Contemporary with Gabriel García Márquez, and following the tradition of Latin American magical realism, this writer is able to tell us stories from unusual perspectives that make us see the world in new ways.

Cien Años de Soledad me pareció una de las mejores obras que leí en mi vida por lo tanto no podía esperar para leer esta historia que tiene como eje principal el amor romántico que es uno de mis temas favoritos. Tenía el corazón roto cuando lo leí y me lo recomendaron por ese motivo, mi consejo es que si están pasando por algo así lo mejor es que no lo lean porque revive el dolor y además lo cierto es que lamentablemente me decepciono, aunque creo firmemente que todos alguna vez en su vida deberían leerlo y ahora procurare explicar el porqué.
La historia se centra en Florentino Ariza que estuvo enamorado de Fermina Daza toda su vida…hasta un punto bastante obsesivo. Esta historia retrata la historia de amor entre ellos dos en un pueblecito del Caribe a lo largo de mas de sesenta años.
Yo esperaba encontrarme algo del estilo Donde termina el arcoíris de Cecelia Ahern, pero esta historia, aunque se supone que lo es, no es romántica, es enfermiza y creo que otorga un mensaje muy inapropiado que lo dejare para que ustedes lo interpreten a su manera. Florentino me pareció un personaje realmente espantoso que no sabe tratar a ninguna mujer y eso es lo que mas me desilusiono de esta obra, él como es representada la mujer: como un objeto sexual y nada racional (excepto por Fermina que alguna que otra vez brilla como toda una estrella). Mi personaje favorito fue sin duda el Doctor Juvenal Urbino porque realmente es el único cuerdo en esta historia.
Los primeros capítulos son los que más me gustaron y si pasan por alto los malos ratos van a poder guardar en sus corazones algunas escenas maravillosas y frases que simplemente quedan en la memoria porque son extraordinarias y es por ello por lo que creo que todos deben leer esta historia.

One Hundred Years of Solitude seemed to me one of the best works I read in my life, so I couldn't wait to read this story whose main theme is romantic love, which is one of my favorite subjects. I was heartbroken when I read it and they recommended it to me for that reason, my advice is that if you are going through something like that it is best not to read it because it relives the pain. The truth is that unfortunately I am disappointed, although I firmly believe that everyone in their life should read it and now I will try to explain why.
The story centers on Florentino Ariza who was in love with Fermina Daza all his life ... to a rather obsessive point. This story portrays the love story between the two of them in a small Caribbean town over more than sixty years.
I was hoping to find something of the style Where the rainbow ends of the author Cecelia Ahern , but this story, although it is supposed to be one, is not romantic, it is sick and I think it gives a very inappropriate message that I will leave for you to interpret to your way. Florentino seemed to me a really horrible character who does not know how to treat any woman and that is what most disappointed me about this work, the representation of women: as a sexual object and not rational at all (except for Fermina who has her moments). My favorite character was without a doubt Doctor Juvenal Urbino because he really is the only sane one in this story.
The first chapters are the ones that I liked the most and if you ignore the bad times you will be able to keep in your heart some wonderful scenes and phrases that simply remain in the memory because they are extraordinary and that is why I think everyone should read this story.

Jane Austen es una de mis escritoras favoritas. Sus historias siempre quedan en mi mente y me trasmiten mucha paz porque todas sus obras son simplemente hermosas.
En esta historia Fanny Price es adoptada por sus tíos millonarios, los Bertram como obra de caridad. Jane Austen es una de mis escritoras favoritas. Sus historias siempre quedan en mi mente y me trasmiten mucha paz porque todas sus obras son simplemente hermosas.
En esta historia Fanny Price es adoptada por sus tíos millonarios, los Bertram como obra de caridad. Este libro inspiró la película del mismo nombre protagonizada por Jennifer Aniston,Drew Barrymore,Scarlett Johansson,entre otros actores muy conocidos que realmente esta muy buena... la había visto en su momento y me había gustado mucho asique cuando recientemente la volví a ver me fije si tenia alguna relación con algún libro y en efecto ¡así era! Lo busque por toda la faz de la tierra y finalmente lo encontré aunque lamentablemente solo lo pude encontrar en Inglés sin embargo es muy fácil y entretenido para leer.
Pero...¿De qué se trata el libro? Bueno es una especie de guia...yo pensaba que era una serie de historias como sucede en la película pero no,fue escrito por los escritores de sex and the city y esta "guía" tiene como finalidad iluminarnos a nosotras, las mujeres, en el fantástico mundo de lo que son los hombres para que no perdamos nuestro tiempo con aquellos que realmente no nos valoran. Lo que este libro hace a través de mensajes de distintas mujeres y desde el punto de vista de los autores es mostrarnos cómo se comporta un hombre cuando realmente no está tan interesado.
El libro es fresco,divertido y en mi opinión muy revelador aunque está dirigido específicamente a las mujeres creo que también sería muy interesante para los hombres...

This book inspired the movie of the same name starring Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, among other well-known actors. the movie is very good ... I had seen it at the time and I liked it a lot so when I recently saw it again I noticed if it had any relationship with any book and indeed it was! I searched it all over the face of the earth and finally found it, it is very easy and entertaining to read.
But ... What is the book about? Well it is a kind of guide ... I thought it was a series of stories as it happens in the film but no, it was written by the writers of sex and the city and this "guide" is intended to enlighten us women in the fantastic world of what men are so that we don't waste our time with those who don't really value us. What this book does through messages from different women and from the authors' point of view is to show us how a man behaves when he really isn't that interested.
The book is fresh, fun and in my opinion very revealing although it is directed specifically at women I think it would also be very interesting for men ...

Bueno, con esta segunda parte de la saga mantuve una relación amor—odio desde la primera hoja hasta la última. El primer libro tal y como comente en su respectiva reseña ¡me encanto! Pero con su continuación sufrí muchísimo... Kira emprende la misión que Nandita le dejo y se encuentra con una serie de problemas horripilantes en donde tiene que intentar buscar todas las respuestas para poder salvar a ambas razas. Gracias a Dan en este libro podemos ver como Kira y Samm profundizan en su relación (algo que vengo esperando desde el primer libro) mientras están acompañados de una visita inesperada. En esta segunda entrega tenemos varios puntos de vista que en lo personal me resultaron insoportables, no por los personajes ya que son excelentes si no que el problema que tiene a diferencia de su antecesora es que tiene muchísimos capítulos aburridísimos que no logran atrapar,parecen ser puro decorado y son insufribles.
En contrapartida muchos de sus capítulos son demasiado impresionantes y no te dejan despegarte pero luego cambian de escenario y se vuelve un completo fiasco. Muchas veces pensé en abandonar la saga pero al primer libro y a sus personajes les tengo tanto cariño que (muy dificultosamente) lo pude terminar de leer. De todas maneras me gusto, él final tengo que agregar que es impresionante y sin duda me dejo con ganas de más...pero antes de traerles la reseña de su última parte voy a tomarme un descansito de esta historia porque me canso.
La recomiendo para aquellos días en los que buscamos acción y un poquito de aventura.

Well, with this second part of the saga I had a love-hate relationship, from the first page to the last one. The first book as I commented in the respective review, I loved it! But with Fragments I suffered a lot ... Kira undertakes the mission that Nandita left her and she finds herself with a series of horrifying problems, she has to try to find all the answers to be able to save both races. Thanks to Dan in this book we can see Kira and Samm relationship (something that I have been waiting for since the first book) while they are accompanied by an unexpected visit. In this second book we have several points of view that for me were unbearable, not because of the characters since they are excellent, but the problem is that it has many boring chapters that do not manage to catch, they seem to be pure decorated and are insufferable.
On the other hand, many of the chapters are too impressive and do not let you despair, but when the point of view changes becomes a complete fiasco. Many times I thought about leaving the saga but I love the first book and its characters so much that I was able to finish reading it. Anyway I like it. I have to add that the end it is impressive and without a doubt I leave myself wanting more ... but before bringing the review of its last part I am going to take a break from this story because I get tired.
I recommend it for those days when we are looking for action and a little adventure.
