I honestly don’t think i’m every going to recover from this book. It was so beautifully written and i think the parts i mostly enjoyed were Arthur’s journal entries. My favorite was where he said “i am nothing but a mosaic of the people i’ve met and the things they’ve carried.” idk but that one hit home for me. And then.. at the end of the book, when it all came full circle… i cried like a BABY! This book truly showed how much trauma can deeply effect you and your mental health. Arthur Louis Pullman went through a life no human should have to go through. From practically starting a revolution, to watching five people die because of you, to burying the love of your life, and having to marry a woman you don’t love the way you should. The death of his loved one hit him so. hard. that he forced everything down in order to put it in the past.. yet he lived with the guilt. It was such a powerful story and is going in my top three standalones. 5/5 loved and will forever remember
okay SOME SPOILERS!!!
for starters don't get me wrong the book was good along with the entire romance of it BUT there are some things that REALLY bothered me. 1. Naomi's ex showed up ONCE! I get that he was threatened but I just feel like his appearance and disappearance was so out of pocket. 2. Of course i knew everything with Tina was going to come full circle, but I feel like the end where Waylay got kidnapped was weird because they didn't really need Naomi. And also throughout the whole look-for-Naomi-and-waylay situation it really just started to feel like a Wattpad mafia romance with the whole kidnapping shenanigans'.
I am NOT saying I hate this book. It was good but I just felt like there were some grey space within the book that were never filled. I know some people are into this kind of book and it was a very good grumpy sunshine small town romance but yet again, the whole crime boss charade really defeated the purpose of a lot of the book. I'm trying to be harder on my book ratings because I through five stars out in the wind, so in the end, I'm very happy with my rating, but don't let this review hold you back from ready Things We Never Got Over. Looking forward to more Lucy Score!

To start: i read this a couple months ago.
This is one of those books that I still think about. I’m writing this review because i didn’t previously and I was thinking about how good this book was. Many negative reviews on this book complain about the “insta love”. In reality it was just an insta crush. More so, they really just identified the idea that they could fall in love. Idk if that makes sense but it honestly the best way i can describe it.
I love how much this book captures two teenagers and their family struggles, but also how powerful the concept of a “chain reaction” is. It was beautiful. For example, a simple thank you can literally save a persons life. This ending absolutely obliterated me. But the epilogue? God, my heart was stitched back together. It was such a beautiful written book and I don’t care what the negative reviews say but this will forever be in my top 3 stand alones. Also, 5/5 on the tear scale
