This book is hilarious and lighthearted. It's also heartwarming, and heartbreaking, and sincere. I got teary eyed twice, which is a very rare occurrence for me. I loved it more than anticipated and will definitely be picking up more Scalzi soon.

Although I do not gravitate towards romance as a genre, it must be admitted: Jane Austin is a brilliant character writer. Each character in this book feels so fully formed, nuanced, and real.

I feel I'm in the perfect target audience for this book: I enjoy Taylor's music whenever it's on, but certainly don't know her or her music enough to call myself me a Swiftie, or even close. This book does an excellent job of contextualizing how Taylor has risen to become to cultural icon she is today, and as she has been for the past many years. I especially love how crystal clear it is that the author is a massive fan, and how that let's him get away with his ruthless-at-times analysis of Taylor's dramatics; it's a very fun book.

I've been itching for a bit more horror lately, and this was a perfect choice! As someone who loves a plot that revolves around acquiring worldbuilding information, I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense of this book. I also loved the first-person narration and how her backstory and motivations were slowly peeled back as the book progressed.
