Didn’t love how this ended, but was a fun read for the most part.

Great continuation, Cass and Steph’s friendship feels like the heart of this series and I love it so much. Really love the art in issues 9-12 as well, love the bold, colourful panels.

Starts off slow but really takes off. Both funny and sweet, the friendships between the Batgirls is the highlight for me. A fun storyline to kick off the run, too.

A disappointing run. Plot is convoluted but comes together in the end but the dialogue is wooden and off putting. Wasted an entire first issue on exposition with the Robins introducing themselves around a table, as if anyone picking this up would be unfamiliar with the characters.

Absolutely life ruining, but a gorgeous addition to Ventress’ story. Clearly written from a place of so much love for my favourite character is Star Wars

Not to be read as a primary source due to its origins as described as a foreword, but nonetheless a cute and funny collection of stories in the life of a farmer’s wife

A successfully creepy Victorian Gothic tale, that manages to balance three timelines maintaining equal interest in each. It is disappointing that the 17th Century diary entries make no attempt to read as such. In fact the voice doesn’t change in any significant way to the 19th Century writings, distinguishable only by being in third person. The ending was a little predictable too. But it’s a fun spin-chilling read perfect for Winter nights by the fire nonetheless.

I didn’t want to leave these characters, awful as they are. i’m sure I’m missing out on some intertextuality because I’m not well read on my Classics, and I’m conflicted on my opinion on the ending. But this is a beautifully constructed novel, with an unreliable narrator that I’d need an essay to begin to analyse. Definitely one that would benefit from a reread in the future to fully appreciate.

Finishing this book felt like grieving, I’ve just put it down and sobbed. Such a tense and atmospheric ready that steadily ramps up. A fascinating exploration of Scottish history and folklore.
