I'm really disappointed by this book.
The cover is so pretty with its "pop art"-esque style and the two different colours.
Also the concept? Cool idea! Furthermore I really really enjoyed the first aproxamtly 200pages. I thought this would be a 4.5-5 star book. But after the romance started to pick up at said 200 pages I just didn't really like it anymore.
And then additionally this kind of random Fredrick-gets-imprisoned thing and her having this idea to save him, that works out perfectly fine without any complications and him just randomly at the same time convincing Miss Jameson not to marry him, when she obviously wanted it before... it's just so stupid.

It just felt a bit rushed at the end and I felt like the more I read, the lesser I enjoyed it.

It was interesting and confusing and somewhat weird to read.
I honestly don't know how to rate it but it's somewhere between 2.5-4 stars.

Now see, if I was a fan of this type of book, I would've probably enjoyed it a lot. But I'm not. This book made me feel uneasy in a lot of different ways and this is just not what I'm searching for in a book.
I did like Kings writing style tho. And the characters were very interesting.

The plot was fairly predictable, but the story itself was lovely, especially revisting all the characters from the previous book and their relationship. Thus I believe it was a good ending for the whole series, I particularly enjoyed the extended epilogue. The cat should've been mentioned more often tho.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 33%.
My grandma gave me this book, because she really liked it and I gave it a chance, because the premise was very promising and it sounded quite interesting, but that was about the only good thing about it. The author obviously does not know what a comma or the little word 'and' is. Most of the sentences in this book are 7-9 words long and are followed by two or more sentences (same length or shorter), that could've been connected to the first one with mentioned comma or 'and' and this made me fucking aggressive. So the book had (at least for me) no reading flow, which made it soo hard to read, without trying to rage quit every few minutes.
Also the suicide mention of the mother was so insensitive

Like I said it has quite the interesting topic, but I bet you can find that aswell in a better written book.
If I didn't dnf I would've given it 2-2.5 stars.

This book is everything I could ever ask for and more. If I could give 6 stars I would. Probably the best book I've ever read.

Before I state anything else, I must say I enjoyed Beach Rivals. It was a fun light read, I read it at the beach (which made the experience even better) and I adored the setting(I'd like to underline that).
But I have a few other things to say:

1. I didn't really enjoy the writing style of the author, probably because I was spoiled by the literary works I read before it, but nonetheless I didn't love it.

2. The characters were never really rivals, so ig the title is a bit misleading.

3. Clare and Jack didn't really have any chemistry until the last let's say 70 pages.

4. I wouldn't market it as a book for Emily Henry fans, her way of writing is way better. Maybe the premise could've been from her but that's about it.

This book was honestly pretty mediocre.... until the last 200 pages.
The prison sequence was really dark but also really good. And then the last fight, omg. Like come on Hudson just a fucking badass there. And the thing Nuri does?! And the last sentence of the book?! But I think it's a bit unnecessary that Luca died, like come on you don't have to kill of a random side character in every book...

I still don't really love Grace tho. And the book was a bit to long, she probably could've done this 500 pages without much of the plot missing.

This book made me think a lot a lot about various topic, but when I closed it after reading the last chapter, I thought 'What the fuck'. I think this explains my experience with it really well. Furthermore I liked the titles of the chapter (f.ex. 'stop teaching men words', 'um' & ':|')
