as an autistic person, I think not all of this was written in a way where I can apply it to my own life, but I think it’s a really great tool book for everyone to have also that asmr bonus chapter was hell, it did not calm me but it did distract me from my brain so desired affect was reached thanks Daniel

I love that this book explores the internalised misogyny that can come from being a trans person and the internalised shame from being autistic and uses those in each character as a mirror, as someone who is trans and autistic, I could really connect with the way the characters thought about themselves as someone who used to think of themselves the same way. I wish I had read this in highschool so I could’ve connected with it more. I knew being a YA that it would probably end in a way that felt a bit too neat and tidy, but all around a solid book that I hope ends up in the hands of trans and neurodivergent youth

oh my sweet, sweet Eleanor. the first time I read this book, I hated it but now on a second read, 4-5 years later, I can see how foolish I was and how unwilling I was to see the story that was being told and how much I relate to it. this book is heartbreaking. I wish I related less to eleanor.

different from the movie in a way I wasn’t expecting but still lots of fun and Nimona is literally me 🫶 not as connected to the characters in this version, felt a lot more plot motivated than character motivated but still good!
