I couldn’t even make it through the prologue without tears so I knew this book was about to ruin me. Right off the bat Shane is a big jerk. The fact that Kate has helped so much with his wife and kids and that is how he talks to her? Get out of here, asshole. His emotions were all over the place and it gave me whiplash. The turn this book takes so early on had me wondering what in the heck I signed myself up for. No seriously, wtf?!? This whole time I had no clue why Kate put up with this man’s shit. Words can’t even express how much I hate him. He’s now the most hated MMC in my book. The way the book was written had me feeling all the same emotions that Kate was feeling. When that POS would make her cry, I would cry. I felt like the ending was super rushed and we missed a big event, we were just told briefly about it. I feel robbed from an experience I feel like we all deserved. Oh and he didn’t grovel nearly enough. I’m going to start a petition “Kate deserves better”. Shane, you’re a ginormous piece of crap. Well done to the author for making me have such strong feelings for a fictional character 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

MY HEART. This book messed with my emotions so badly and I loved every minute of it. I only read a little of the synopsis but I had a feeling I knew how the story would go. Well… I was wrong! Avery & her boyfriend, Josh move into Josh’s best friends house. Dylan is a tattoo artist and doesn’t date. Like at all. He sleeps with girls and that’s it. Josh shows up with Avery and instantly Dylan is drawn to her. THE FREAKING ANGST!!!! I liked Josh but I loved Dylan. Yes, there is cheating in this book so be aware of that. Yes, it will rip your heart out and step on it 5,000 times. Right from the start Avery is different with Dylan than she is with Josh. I never thought a book with cheating would make me feel all these feels and make me understand how she could be in love with both men. Like damn I was confused, too 🤣 I’m telling you this book is so freaking good. It’s messy, it’s hot, it’s perfection!

The only thing that might bother people is the editing could have been better. The beginning is when I noticed it the most and I normally don’t notice that stuff.

I now have a book hangover.

I’ve been a hoe for step sibling romance for a while now and I’ve been meaning to read “Brix” for what feels like forever. Ivy comes home from college for the summer to a new house. Her mother is engaged to Jasper and has moved in with him. Little does she know there is someone else staying there and it’s a guy she’s known since the 9th grade, Jasper’s son. Brix has always made fun of Ivy since high school and quite frankly she hates him for it. So finding out they are going to be living under the same roof for the summer was a shocker but what was worse is their parents eloped without them knowing. Their banter back and forth got down right mean and I loved every second of it. The tension is there and it’s tensioning! I read some reviews that said it was “cringy” but honestly I didn’t think so. I did however hate the 3rd act 😡 We know exactly what the 3rd act was going to be super early in the book and I wasn’t a fan. Oh, and the reason he was a dick in the first place pissed me off. Otherwise I loved this book so much and added the next book to my TBR.

This is so dark and twisted but so damn good. It’s 25 pages and you get so much story in such a short amount of time. I mean K Webster wrote it so I knew it would be good! “Piggy” has been bullied by kids in his school for so long. Summer invites him to her house party and things go really bad. Eventually he gets his revenge and man is it brutal. You can get this book for free on K Websters website!

Jett felt like her father abandoned her at the age of 12 and never looked back. For all those years Jett thought her father was Mason and then Maury rolls up and says “Mason you are not the father”.  From the moment Mason & Jett reconnected I felt the tension through my kindle. I love that the author didn’t dilly dally on Mason realizing Jett knew he wasn’t her father. I really appreciated the flow of this book. I really dislike when parents hold information from their children that they really should know, no matter how bad it might be. If it’s really bad once they are 18 you should tell them. Like how do you tell your kid they don’t need to know who their father is? That right there would make me angry. I don’t blame Jett for going and trying to find the answers herself because she was getting nowhere with her mother 🙄 At times this book made me feel icky because he would call her his “little girl” and they really made it known that he raised for her 12 years and looked at her like she was his. I felt their chemistry and then that stuff would be said and I would lose it. I feel like had he been just looked at as a guardian I would have felt more comfortable with it. I think I enjoyed this book more than I should have and I need to go to church and confess my sins🤣

I was in the mood for a short read and I’m so glad I read this one. Many of the books I’ve read had FMC that are 35 and younger so having this be about a 46 year old woman, who is divorced and is a mother to older kids was a nice change. It’s taken place at Christmas time but honestly could be read at anytime. Where do I even begin?!? Vonn Barlowe is a silver fox musician and hot as hell!!! I’m absolutely obsessed with both Vonn and Brooke (FMC). So much so that I actually cried TWICE while reading this short piece of magic! I LOVED this novella so freaking much. I’m 37 but that feeling of not really knowing what you’re going to do with your life once your kids grow is super relatable. The storyline was great, the length of the novella was perfect and I honestly want to read it over again right now.

You can get this short story off her website. There is a Bookfunnel link 🫶

I’ve been having my family pick from my Kindle TBR jar so I can get that TBR down. The very first time my husband picked a book for me it’s about a Marine. He was in the Marines for 4 years so I found it funny this was his first pick. One of my favorite shows is Army Wives (fun fact: my daughter Emalyn is named after one of the characters I just spelled it differently)and this book gave me those vibes but they were Marines. Right off the bat I loved Lexi. The way she was with Noah’s fiancé had me cheering!! Yes it’s very insta-love but in the best way possible. The way Lexi and Noah connected was on a whole other level. Noah is so damn sweet and understanding. I loved this love story so much 🥹

This felt like every other forbidden step-sibling romance and I enjoyed it so much! This trope is one where if you’ve read one you’ve pretty much read them all. Carter’s Dad marries Layne’s mom and Carter and Layne fall for each other. Layne is dating someone else and Carter hates him. That’s all I’m going to say. It’s a super quick read and I enjoyed it.

Right from the beginning I felt like this was a different writing style than K Webster normally has and I didn’t hate it. It definitely took some getting use to. I went into this book blind and knew absolutely nothing about it and I think you should, too. I can’t say much about this book without giving anything away other than the love in this book is REAL. The lengths people will go to for the one they love just makes me so emotional. Just please go into it with an open mind and know that your brain will be going the whole entire time. The way this book was written made you feel like you were living it right along with them. I grew to love all the “good” characters and even cried at the end. Like how did this book make me feel so much and be absolutely off its rocker beats me. Well done K Webster! You are the queen of making sure I stay open minded. Thank you for this 🫶

We NEED more short stories like this from Nikki. I’ve read all her books and love her writing so much. I knew she would make us fall in love with the characters even if the story is only 45 pages. She definitely delivered!!! I loved the whole storyline and Knox was so freaking cute! Ughhhh I want more!!!!
