Paula Deen's Air Fryer Cookbook by Paula H. Deen

We bought an air fryer.  It's got Paula Deen's name on it.  It didn't come with any recipes or much of a user guide, and we're new to air fryers.  If you're in a similar situation... I guess the book was mildly helpful?  But honestly, you'll get more info googling random recipes online and save yourself the mild bother of tracking this mediocrity down.

Love this one!  The cultural journeys we get to take by reading about these foods is about as good as it gets without coming with a pre-made tasting plate.

If you're looking for just a solid, compact primer on all preservation techniques with some sample recipes, this is the book for you!  Nothing personal (except an appreciable LOVE of preserving foods), nothing cultural.  Clearly knowledgeable about food safety, but doesn't let the writing become too scientific either.

Such a great book on foraging, preserving, the nerdiness of preparing foods with deep excitement for where the ingredients came from and how they were combined to speak of the place and the people.  The author travels a lot so he isn't just talking about harvesting from upstate NY, nor even just the States.  He has several specific recipes and cultural insights from visiting his wife's family in their little village in the Czech Republic.

Fine if you only want a compendium of perfectly good looking but largely standard recipes without much surprise.  More bits of cultural context would make it more interesting to me.  Just not the style of cookbook I cotton to.
