This book relies heavily grief. There were moments I had to take a step back because despite time, the grief comes in waves. One day you’re okay, the next? You’re doing dishes and it hits you - how gone someone is who you loved as much as you did. With all things - grief comes change and grief isn’t limited to physical loss - but death of who we once were to become better for ourselves and those around us. We really see Hades take a step out of himself and hold himself accountable with the lack of communication to Persephone, not going straight to sex when they need to talk (it happens though but not always and that’s progress!) We also see Persephone give herself some credit - we see her in wrapped in all of this grief and through that she finds the love she has for herself by standing up to Demeter, her mom, not just for herself but also in defense of Leuce! I loved this so much. It’s also broken by some comedic relief from Hermes which is just very refreshing 12/10

I loved this. I listened to the audiobook at work and found a younger version myself deeply relating to Amy in terms of wanting to give up, always feeling exhausted from just trying to survive and then when shit hits the fan she realizes how much life she has in her and how much she does care for those around her. I was rooting for her, for Basil and dear God even Ruth Anne. When she removed her own eyes just to save what was left of her own sanity? Holy hell. I would love a mini sequel just to see how Amy and Basil handled working in the store after everything that happened. Grady Hendrix can no wrong in my eyes. Everything he writes leaves me on the edge of my seat - I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did. The comedic relief is also a huge bonus to break up the tension when all of our characters are fighting to survive in this makeshift Ikea knockoff ghost not ghost but definitely haunted store after hours.

I put off finishing A Touch of Chaos for weeks because I just didn’t want this series to end. I truly haven’t throughly enjoyed a series this much in what feels like forever - I am so attached these characters and am so proud of them (especially Apollo despite his tragic end) I just loved this series so much and couldn’t be happier with how it ended

This is the most revolting book I have read in a long while. This guy is Joe Goldberg but more deranged. He stalks this girl, forces himself onto her but also saves women from sex trafficking and murders guys who beat women/rape them - even though he’s also sexually abusing/raping and stalking a woman? This book was beyond fucked. I made it to page 200 and DNF it. The sexual assault trope is disgusting and shouldn’t even be considered a fucking fantasy/kink. What the fuck was this?? If I could give this book no stars I would. At least have Adeline give consent vs having been raped in her home by some stalker. Just what the fuck was this book?

Writers of the world: consent is everything. This shit isn’t hot.

This is my favorite installment of The Vampire Chronicles. This is my third time reading The Body Thief, now as someone who is much older who can fully understand the severity of Lestats interest in being a human, in giving up immortality and seeking out simpler pleasures in life. The little things matter, orange juice and bad spaghetti are a few which our lovely MC experiences for the first time. But then we see how when he becomes ill, with the flu of all things, begins to detest being human while being the most inhumane and romantic walking contradiction I have ever read about. I love Lestat and hate him for betraying David - our sheer stupidity and jealously. All in all, worth a read. Absolutely lovely. Especially the theological debate with Gretchen and the love he had for her. Just - omg. Absolutely love this book.

Bonus: first time reading the audio book and the narration was ✨ heaven sent ✨

I think this is my favorite book I’ve read this year. Definitely didn’t anticipate it being this funny or having the twists or ending it did!
